5 Awkward Moments Where Celebrities Got up and Left Interviews

When Robert Downey Jr. walked out of an interview recently while promoting the Avengers movie in which he stars, things got just a little bit more than slightly awkward. He didn’t seem angry or have a fit or anything of that nature. But when the interviewer began asking the actor if he felt his character was like his former drug addicted self or if he was, in fact, clean of his addictions, Downey Jr. made the decision to get up and move on. He was not having it, and we do not blame him. The actor had a lot of very personal problems that were made very public thanks to his fame several years back, but he’s back and better than ever. He’s clean, sober, married and he’s got a few more kids with his wife. He’s one of the highest paid actors in the business, and life is looking good. So when he felt that the interview was getting a little “Diane Sawyer,” he walked out. And that reminded us of a few other times celebs have up and left in the midst of an interview.

Russell Crowe

When he walked out on an interview a few years back, it was just plain awkward in so many ways.

Christine O’Donnell

As a candidate running for public office, you would think that she would be happy to express her views on gay marriage, but she was not so happy to be asked by Piers Morgan. So she got up and left.

Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg

Bill O’Reilly can be tough, but he wasn’t even the one doing the interviewing when this happened. He was on the set of The View.

Paris Hilton

She was none too thrilled to be asked if she was afraid her moment had passed, so she got up and walked away from her interview.

Rihanna

She was not too happy when an interviewer began prying into her love life, so she got up and walked away from her interview in the middle of it.
