Anna Wintour is Notably Absent from Twitter and Maybe that’s a Sign

The most powerful woman in the world if fashion is none other than Vogue editor Anna Wintour. It’s not uncommon to see her out and about, and it’s certainly uncommon to see her smile. In fact, many have said that the book and movie “The Devil Wears Prada,” are based off of the author’s experience working for Wintour and that the evil editor in the movie is actually Wintour herself, and many of her issues in the movie and book are real. We don’t know for certain, however, but it’s been pretty much proven true. Regardless, there is one thing about Anna Wintour you cannot deny; she is powerful and she is the most important woman in the world of fashion. Designers bow to her, clients want nothing more than to impress her, and those who work for her had better do a good job or they will eventually be gone. She’s gone on to discuss what it is that you have to do in life to be considered successful and she’s right to share; she knows what it takes to create a name, a brand and a reputation and she’s actually sharing that with the world.

One thing that Anna Wintour does not do, however, is use Twitter. She has no official page of her own, but she did make headlines in 2013 when she used the official US Vogue twitter handle to make her very first tweet, and it was about equality – and that’s admirable. She’s been notably absent since, and she likes it that way. She says nothing about it when she’s advising people on how to become successful, but perhaps she has a point in her silence – literally and figuratively. Perhaps her silence is what makes it possible for people to become successful. Perhaps her absence from social media is a way to achieve success, and perhaps we should all consider the loss of social media as a whole.
