Ashton Kutcher Disrupt Tech

Ashton Kutcher has been living his life in the spotlight for more than 15 years.  Although he began his career as a model, Kutcher is most famous for acting and in 1998 he was lucky enough to receive both his acting debut and his breakout role as a star on FOX’s retro themed sitcom, That 70s Show.  During the show, which ran from 1998 to 2006, Kutcher played Michael Kelso, a loveable yet goofy character who becomes known for getting himself into ridiculous situations.  While he was still a cast member on That 70s Show, Kutcher made several other on-screen appearances including the 2004 film, The Butterfly Effect, and MTV’s reality prank show, Punk’d, which Kutcher created himself.  By the mid 2000s, Kutcher was considered one of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities and in an interview he was described as a “hunky young actor [who] is heading in all different directions at once.”  Kutcher went on to describe himself as a “trier,” saying. ” I don’t want to fail. If something doesn’t work out—if That ’70s Show got canceled or if I wasn’t going to have a film career—I always wanted to have backup contingency plans. So I just started doing other things; and on a half-hour sitcom, you’re really only working for 30 hours a week. It allows a lot of time for sitting around, which I always kind of filled with work.”  When That 70s Show finally reached its end, Kutcher’s career continued to thrive both on and off screen.

As Kutcher’s career grew, his personal life was also thrust into the spotlight. His relationship with famed actress, Demi Moore gained a lot of attention due to the couple’s 15 year age difference.  The couple was married in 2005 and divorced in November 2013 after over a year of separation.  Before the couple’s divorce was finalized, Kutcher began dating his former That 70s Show co-star, Mila Kunis, and the couple welcomed their first child in October of 2014 after becoming engaged in February.  While many of Kutcher’s relationships have been relatively public, there is one very important relationship that some of Kutcher’s fans may not even be aware of.  To the surprise of many, Ashton Kutcher has a a younger brother – a fraternal twin, named Michael Kutcher.  Although Michael is not one of Hollywood’s elites, and has lived his life out of the spotlight, he has always been supportive of his brother in all aspects. Although the many roles that often depict him as funny and simple, can make it hard to picture Ashton Kutcher as a serious figure, it seems as though he has had a very big impact on his brother’s life. Although Ashton is just a few minute’s older than Michael, he has served as somewhat of a role-model since their childhood. In an interview Michael discussed his relationship with his slightly older brother and said that he considers Ashton his “best friend.” When the two were born, Michael was not expected survive, and at the age of three, Michael was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, a disease which primarily effects motor function.

In a recent interview US Weekly, Michael spoke out on his brother’s relationship with Kunis saying that he believes the couple is “meant to be” and that he is extremely happy for his brother.  While he has spent much of his adult life congratulating Ashton and living in his shadow, Michael has actually enjoyed quite the career himself.  According to his Twitter bio Michael is a Motivational Speaker, Advocate for children w/ Cerebral Palsy and organ donation.”  In March of 2014, Michael Kutcher was named the commencement speaker at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  The university’s president Laurie Hamen, said that the school selected Kutcher “because of his personal courage and inspirational message…His work parallels our ministry and mission. Michael is a perfect example of the powerful impacts our alumni have on the common good.” While Michael Kutcher may never be able to reach an audience of millions like his brother, he has certainly done his best to make sure that his spread awareness to the causes that are closest to his heart. Who can spread messages of equality better than colorful marshmallow bunnies?  Although Peeps come in several different colors, they’re all exactly the same on the inside.  Who knew that Peeps and people had so much in common? With his work as a motivational speaker, messages of equality and fair treatment are probably near and dear to Michael’s heart.
