Five of The Most Humble Big Sean Quotes

Detroit rapper, Big Sean, is currently one of hip-hop’s biggest names.  He achieved mainstream success in 2011 after the release of his debut album, Finally Famous.  Big Sean is well known for his slick and braggy lyrics that often contain lines about immense amounts of money, lots of women, and expensive cars.  Due to his lyrical content, Big Sean has often been labeled as cocky and arrogant. However, despite his on-stage persona, Big Sean is actually a humble person who has not allowed his fame to take him away from the things that matter most.  Big Sean has remained close to his family and friends, and their impact on him has certainly helped him remain grounded.  Here are five of the most humble Big Sean quotes.

5.  “I’m really vulnerable onstage because it’s just me. I’m not really trying to put up a front or act a certain way.”

Many people, especially celebrities with big egos, have a hard time admitting when they feel vulnerable; however, Big Sean has no problem admitting that sometimes he feels unguarded while on stage.

4.  “My mom keeps me going, man. She deserves such a good life. I just wanna give it to her. My dad, too. My family, my friends, they keep me motivated. Just knowing my personal legend, just knowing what I’m supposed to do, that keeps me going.”

Sometimes celebrities get so caught up in the hype of their own career that they forget they didn’t get that far on their own.  Big Sean, who has a close relationship with his family, acknowledges the role they played in his success.

3. “I definitely consider myself a Christian. There’s things that I believe in, there’s things I have a self-belief on. I know I got a great relationship with God and the universe. I just believe in being a righteous person and karma. Doing unto others as you would have done unto you. I really want to help teach that.”

Regardless of the belief system a person subscribes to, faith plays a very important role in the lives of many people.

2. “Fame necessarily isn’t really tied to success at all. Fame is just being recognized for doing what you do, whether it’s good or bad. Osama bin Laden was famous.”

Self-awareness is key, and Big Sean seems to be very aware that his success and his fame do not necessarily have to do with each other.

1. “You know when it’s love – when you can’t explain it. That’s when you know it’s love, when you got that feeling for somebody where you would do anything at anytime, damn near, and put your pride on the line… but you know that it’s so real that you would hardly ever have to put your pride on the line because that person cares that much about you.”

Truly falling in love can be one of the most humbling things anyone can ever experience.
