Five Things You Didn’t Know about Erica Mena

Erica Mena is one of the most popular cast members on VH1’s hit reality TV series, Love & Hip Hop: New York.  Mena’s aggressive, honest, and bold personality has made her one of the most exciting – and explosive – people on the show.  However, many viewers do not find her behavior entertaining, and believe that she is doing nothing more than making herself look crazy in front of millions of viewers. Fortunately for Mena, the opinions of other’s don’t seem to faze her.  Surprisingly, there is much more to her than what she shows viewers, and she actually leads a pretty interesting life outside of the show.  Here are five things you didn’t know about Erica Mena.

5. Erica Mena has appeared in several music videos.

Before becoming a reality TV star, Eric Mena was a video vixen.  Over the course of her career, she appeared in several music videos featuring popular artists including 50 Cent’s “Candy Shop,” and Chris Brown’s, “Yo (Excuse Me Miss).”

4. Erica Mena released a memoir in 2013.

In 2013, Erica Mena released a memoir titled, Underneath It All in which she gives an honest account of several of her life experiences.  The book currently has an Amazon rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars.  

3. Erica Mena was in a Jennifer Lopez look-alike contest.

Before breaking into the entertainment industry, Erica Mena entered and won a Jennifer Lopez look-alike contest.  In 2014, Mena again paid homage to Lopez when she did a photo shoot reenacting several of Lopez’ poses in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

2. Erica Mena appeared in season one of Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami.

Before millions of viewers recognized her name and face, Erica Mena worked as a sales assistant at the Kardashian owned boutique, Dash. While working for the Kardashians, Mena even appeared in an episode of the reality TV series, Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami. During her appearance on the show, she even shared an on-screen make out session with Kourtney Karashian.

1. Erica Mena is engaged to Bow Wow.

Although Erica Mena’s relationship with fellow Love & Hip Hop cast member, Cyn Santana, was highly profiled, Mena has decided to move on. In 2015, Erica Mena and rapper/actor Bow Wow announced their engagement.
