Did The Illuminati Ruin Dave Chapelle’s Career?
During the early 2000s, comedian Dave Chapelle was the king of all things funny. After achieving mainstream fame in 1998 for his co-starring role in the comedy film, Half Baked, Chapelle appeared in a number of on screen roles before finally landing his own sketch comedy show in 2003. Chapelle’s Show, which aired on Comedy Central, gave rise to a list of popular fictional characters who were portrayed by Chapelle. However by the end of 2004, at the height of the show’s success, Chapelle began making comments that led his fans to believe there was trouble in paradise. During a stand up show, after he was interrupted by fans who were quoting lines from his popular Rick James skit, Chapelle told the audience: “You know why my show is good? Because the network officials say you’re not smart enough to get what I’m doing, and every day I fight for you. I tell them how smart you are. Turns out, I was wrong. You people are stupid.”
Less than a year after that statement, Chapelle had walked away from his show and the rest of the entertainment industry and gone into hiding at a friend’s house in South Africa. Although he has since stated that stress is what made him; the public came up with its own interpretation. Here are five tweets from fans who believe the Illuminati is responsible for Dave Chapelle’s departure from the spotlight.

Dave Chapelle’s career has certainly struggled since he walked away from his television show. While he has recently attempted to make a comeback, it is still unclear whether or not he will be able to return to greatness.

If you’ve ever wondered where exactly someone would go if they’re looking to sell they soul, apparently the Illuminati is the place to look. However, Dave Chapelle refused to be swayed by the secret organization’s promises of fortune and fame.

Dave Chapelle left the Chapelle Show cause he didn't want to join the Illuminati.

According to Chapelle himself, he left the show because he began feeling “overwhelmed” and feared that the show was interfering with his standup career; however, this Twitter user seems to have an entirely different opinion.

At the peak of his career Dave Chapelle received a lot of negative attention for his racially charged jokes, it seems a little unlikely that he would have turned town $55 million to continue doing something he was already doing.
