Three Reasons Why We Love Mandy Moore

Actress/singer Mandy Moore rose to fame in 1999 when she released her debut album, So Real.  Originally compared to fellow pop stars, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, Moore became popular for her “bubblegum” style of pop-music, and went on to release five more albums.  Moore has also enjoyed an acting career which led to several Teen Choice Award nominations and a chance to work with some of Hollywood’s biggest names.  Fortunately for Moore, she is one of the few celebrities who has always managed to stay out of trouble, and her image as a sweet person has always remained in tact for more than 20 years. Here are three reasons why we love Mandy Moore.

3. Mandy Moore gave us “Candy.”

It’s almost impossible to not love a person who gives out candy, and the world fell in love with Moore when she released her 1999 singer, “Candy.”  Off of her first album, the upbeat song was  a commercial success and helped Moore establish herself in the music industry.  According to the Nielsen Soundscan “Candy” has sold  753,000 physical copies and 198,000 digital capes since its release.

2. Mandy Moore is a philanthropist.

Mandy Moore enjoys using her celebrity status to help those in need. Moore has consistently worked with Population Services International, an organization which works with children under the age of five who are struggling with serious health problems.  Moore also addressed other diseases such as Leukemia and cervical cancer.

1. Mandy Moore is multi-talented.

Aside from acting and singing, Mandy Moore has also been a fashion designer.  Unfortunately for Moore, her clothing line MBLEM, was discontinued in 2010.  According to Moore, “I love the fashion world. I’m fascinated by it. I’m humbled by it. If I were to dip my toe back in there, it would have to be the right situation… a great partnership that could represent a true reflection of me and my ideas and you know that wasn’t happening. So next go round, that needs to be top of the list.”
