If you’ve ever been in a relationship, you know that love can be found in the places you’d least expect. Sure, everyone has an idea of how they’d like to meet the person of their dreams, but with all the twists and turns that life brings, sometimes romance can blossom in the most unlikely situations. For many celebrities, life on the road proves to be a great – or not to great – way to form relationships.  For musicians especially, long tours have often been a catalyst for ‘love.’ After all, what do you expect to happen when people are spending months together on a tour bus? Unfortunately;  however, many of these relations don’t pan out, and in the long run they become nothing more than another piece of Internet history. Melanie B

During the 90s, The Spice Girls were one of the biggest music groups in the world. During their infamous ‘Spiceworld’ Spice Girl, Mel B, began dating backup dancer, Jimmy Gulzar. At first, the couple’s relationship seemed promising, and they even married and had a child. However, after two years of marriage, the couple decided to file for divorce and go their separate ways.

R. Kelly

At the peak of his career, R. Kelly was one of the biggest stars in the music industry. In 1996, Kelly married one of his backup dancers and choreographers, Andrea Lee. The couple seemed like a match made and heaven, and they decided to tie the knot the same year. However, in the early 2000s when R.Kelly was accused of having sexual relationships with underage girls, many knew that his marriage would eventually fail. Although Lee remained with him through most of his legal issues, the couple divorced in 2009 after 13 years of marriage.

Ashley Tisdale is best-known for her role in Disney’s High School Musical franchise. However, aside from boosting her career, High School Musical is also responsible for connecting Tisdale with her now ex boyfriend, Jared Murillo. The couple met on the set where Murillo worked as a backup dancer, and dated for two years before splitting in 2009.

LeAnn Rimes

Before LeAnn Rimes was a part of the Eddie Cibrian and Brandi Glanville drama, the country music star was married to Dean Sheremet. Rimes and Sheremet met at the 2001 Country Music Awards when Sheremet was assigned to be a back up dancer for Rimes. According to Rimes, it was ‘love at first sight,’ and the couple married the following year. However, the couple divorced in 2009 after rumors that Rimes had cheated on Sheremet with Cibrian.

Christina Aguilera

When Christina Aguilera first hit the scene more than a decade ago, she was in a relationship with one of her backup dancers, Jorge Santos. Things got really serious and sources say Aguilera was even thinking about marrying Santos. However, Santos decided to call it quits because he wanted to focus on his career, and not be stuck living in Aguilera’s spotlight. But despite the split, the two still remain friendly with each other.

Miley Cyrus has a long history of shocking and bizarre behavior. When she was just 15-years-old, she was allegedly dating a 22-year-old backup dancer. Pictures and videos began floating around the Internet which showed the two kissing and flirting. Although Cyrus’ fans were shocked, the ‘relationship’ didn’t last long, and Cyrus has had several high-profile relationships since.

Britney Spears’ relationship with backup dancer, Kevin Federline, is one of the most famous of all. After just three months of dating, Spears and Federline were married but their honeymoon phase certainly didn’t last long. After having two children together, the couple divorced after only two years of marriage. Even after the divorce, the two continued to make headlines, and the decline of the relationship is thought to be the beginning of Spears’ public break down.

Prince

Over the course of his career, Prince has been known for having relationships with some of the hottest celebrities in the industry. However, Prince doesn’t only have a thing for A-List celebrities. During the 90s, Prince fell in love with one of his backup dancers, Mayte Garcia and she eventually became the muse for his album 1992, Love Symbol. The couple was married on Valentine’s Day in 1996. Even though the couple divorced three years later, Mayte says that she was “always love” him.

Surprisingly, the couple actually lasted for three years, before calling it quits.

Jennifer Lopez must have a thing for backup dancers. In 2001 she married backup dancer, Criss Judd. A year after divorcing Judd, Lopez married Marc Anthony, and it seemed like the couple would last forever. When Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony divorced in 2011, fans were shocked. However, Lopez didn’t stay on the market for long. She quickly began dating backup dancer, Casper Smart, and the couple’s relationship lasted for two years.
