Just a few weeks ago, Bruce Jenner sat down with Diane Sawyer and revealed that he was in the process of transitioning from male to female.  During the interview, he answer many questions that the public had been dying to ask and it was clear that living as a man had trotted him his entire life.  However, at the time, Jenner still appeared as a male and did not have a lot of information as to who he would be after his transition was complete. But just a few days ago, the world was introduced to Caitlyn Jenner, a beautiful 65 year-old woman who will be gracing the cover of Vanity Fair.  Now living her life as a woman, Caitlyn seems happier than ever, but now must reintroduce herself to the world.  Here are 10 things you didn’t know about Caitlyn Jenner.

She has always felt like a female.

Many people have accused Caitlyn as nothing more than an attention seeker.  There are many who believe that her  transition  was completely fabricated in an effort to help gain fans and boost her fame.  However,  like most trans people, Caitlyn has always felt like a female on the inside, and believed that that is what she was truly meant to be. As a result, throughout most of her life, Caitlyn struggled with how to express herself, and before transitioning .  According to Jenner, “I’m not doing this to be interesting. I’m doing this to live.”

She’s going to have her own reality show.

Move over Keeping Up with the Kardashians, there’s a new show in town.  Caitlynn Jenner is set to have her own docu-series on E! (the same network that is home to the Kardashians) called I Am Cait. The network has just released the first trailer for the eight part series, and it looks like it will be covering sme of the most interesting aspects of Caitlyn’s transition.

She will be honored at this year’s ESPYs.

This year, Caitlyn Jenner will be the recipient of the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at this year’s ESPYs.  As the award’s name suggests, it is given to someone who has displayed tremendous courage.  According to Jenner, “In the past few months, the overwhelming outpouring of support from all over the world for my journey has been incredible. However, being honored with this award, which is named after one of my heroes, is truly special. For the first time this July, I will be able to stand as my true self in front of my peers.”

Her Twitter game is strong.

After being revealed to the world when pictures from her photo shoot went viral, Caitlyn’s new Twitter account quickly blew up.   Jenner, who now has over two million followers, even surpassed president Obama’s record for the number of followers gained in the shortest amount of time.  In just four hours, Jenner had already gained a million followers while it took nearly five hours for president Obama.

She may lose her gold medal.

Since announcing her transition a ‘concerned’ group of people has decided to petition the Olympic committee for Jenner’s gold medal.  The group feels that now that Jenner is a woman, she does not deserve to keep the medal she worked hard to earn. Although the committee has not yet spoken on whether or not they will take action, there have already been thousands of people who have signed the petition in support.

She loves golf.

Before transitioning, Caitlyn Jenner was an avid golfer, a hobby which she continues now. However, the country club that Jenner joined 15 years ago has some very gender specific rules that will now effect her in her life as a female. Although she will still be able to play on the course, the handicap she earned prior to transitioning has been removed.

She is supported and loved by her family.

Although many people don’t understand Caitlyn’s situation, the people who mean the most to her have shown full support of her journey.  Kim, the most famous Kardashian, has been one of the most supportive family members.  When asked how she felt about Caitlyn’s Vanity Fair cover, Kim stated, “She is so beautiful. The cover is perfect. I’m so proud. I’m glad she can be herself finally. I’m so happy it’s out—the suspense. It makes me want to shout out for joy. Absolutely!”

She has loved the name Caitlyn since childhood.

Many people may be wondering how Caitlyn chose her name – and why she chose to spell it with a C instead of a K.  However, Caitlyn has revealed that she’s loved the name since she was a child, and an insider has said that Caitlyn chose to spell the name with a C in an effort to establish her own identity outside of her famous family.
