Being a grandparent is not something that is often associated with younger people.  When you think of your own grandparents – or even the grand parents you often see on TV – someone older is probably the first thing that comes to mind. However, old age certainly isn’t a prerequisite to becoming a grandparent.  These days, it seems like people are becoming grand proud parents at younger and younger ages. While some may see this as a bad thing, there’s no denying that grandparents play an important role in a person’s life, and there’s nothing like being able to build that bond. Each day, these hip celebrity grandmothers are living proof of that fact.  These stars may have grandchildren, but that hasn’t stopped them from being as fabulous as possible. Here are 10 of the youngest celebrity grandmothers.

Marie Osmond

In 2013, former child star, Marie Osmond, announced that she would be becoming a grandmother at just 54-years-old. Osmond, who was very excited to share the news with the world, seems to be very happy to be enjoying her time as a grandmother. Since her grandson’s birth, she has been showing him off proudly, and it seems like he loves the camera already.

Kris Jenner

Momager, Kris Jenner, is well-known for being a reality TV star, and managing the careers of her daughters, primarily, Kim Kardashian. Jenner became a grandmother at just 54-years-old.  While there’s no denying that Jenner is one of trendiest grandmothers in the business, it’s safe to say that everybody is probably hoping she sticks to being a grandmother and doesn’t attempt to manage their ‘careers.’ One generation of famous Kardashians/Jenners is more than enough.

Even some of her biggest fans may not have known that she’s a grandmother. In 2011, Chaka was granted full custody of her granddaughter who was 11 years old at the time. This means that Chaka, who is now 62, was about 48 years-old when she became a grandmother.

Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin is probably one of the most famous grandmothers in the country. In fact, she might be more well-known for being a grandmother than for her political prowess. Palin became a grandmother at 44 and according to sources, she was a little taken aback when her daughter, Bristol, told her she was pregnant. Now 51 years, old Palin is the proud grandmother of two.

As you can imagine, Priscilla Presley, wife of the late, Elvis Presley, is one pretty cool woman. Priscilla became a grandmother at 44-years-old when she and Elvis’ only child, Lisa Marie had a daughter. Although she’s now 70, and Lisa Marie’s oldest daughter is in her 20s, Priscilla is probably still giving women half her age a run for their money.

Michelle Duggar

With 19 kids, becoming a grandparent is something that’s probably going to happen several times over the course of a long period of time.  With that being said, Michelle Duggar, now 48 years old, became a grandmother for the first time when she was just 43-years-old.  When it’s all said and done, there’s a pretty good chance that she could end up with dozens of grandchildren.

At 59, Whoopi Goldberg may not be one of the youngest celebrity grandmothers right now, but when she became a grandmother more than 20 years ago there’s no doubt that she was one of the youngest out there.  Goldberg, who became a mother at just 17, welcomed her first grandchild when she was 34. Now a grandmother of three, Goldberg still seems to be one of the hippest grannies in the biz.
