Anyone who has a sibling knows that no matter how much you love your brother(s) or sister(s), there’s always a little bit of competition going on. Whether it’s trying to get the most attention, get the best grades, or score the most points, sibling rivalry can get pretty real. However, in most cases, once people reach adulthood they find their own paths and the rivalry dies down a little bit. Unless of course, both siblings decide to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Hollywood is a small town, and sometimes there really isn’t an equal amount of room for everybody. While both might be talented, there’s always one who outshines the other, leaving the other one feeling a little cold. Here are 10 celebrities living in the shadow of their famous siblings.
Casey Affleck has actually had a pretty successful career, but his older brother, Ben, is definitely the more famous of the two. Although Casey has appeared in quite a few successful films (Good Will Hunting, Oceans Trilogy, etc) , it’s still pretty easy to have never heard his name. However, despite the fact that their careers are on different levels, it seems that the brothers really do take time to support each other and are genuinely happy when the other succeeds.

Sure, Ray J has had a fairly successful music career, and he’s also found some success on-screen (in more ways than one – hint: Kim K). However, Ray J will always be most famous for being Brandy’s younger brother. In fact, many of the early opportunities in his career were actually as a result of him having a well-established sibling. No matter how hard he’s tried in the years since, he just can’t seem to step out of her shadow. However, the two seem to have a very good and supportive relationship

It may seem like the only reason Frankie Grande has gotten as much attention as he has is because of his little sister, Ariana Grande. However, even before appearing on the reality TV show, Big Brother, Frankie had already achieved a decent amount of fame thanks to his YouTube channel. Frankie has also pursued an acting career and has experience acting in off-Broadway plays. However, while he does seem to be talented, there’s a good chance he’ll never be as famous as his sister.

It may seem like Kylie Jenner is getting a lot of attention now, but compared to her sisters Kim and Kendall, she’s still not on their level. For starters, Kim is in a league of her own, and Kylie will probably never posses the same Internet breaking powers as her big sis. But even compared to Kendall, whose closest to her age, Kylie still hasn’t had the same impact. Kendall is actually a budding model who has already done shows all over the world, and doesn’t seem to have to engage in the same attention seeking behavior to get fans.

Ashlee Simpson is definitely most famous for being Jessica Simpson’s younger sister. Although Ashlee had a brief singing career, and a short stint as a reality TV star, she was never able to come close to her sister’s level of fame – although she may actually be the more talented of the two. In more recent years, she’s appeared in the Broadway production of Chicago. Now happily married to actor, Evan Ross, Ashlee seems to have taken a break from the spotlight to enjoy life as a newlywed.

Let’s be real, you probably didn’t even know that Luke and Owen Wilson had another brother. Ironically; however, the least famous of the three is actually the oldest, Andrew. While he’s definitely had a pretty impressive career, for some reason he just hasn’t been able to reach the same level of fame as his brothers. Maybe it’s because he looks absolutely nothing like them?

During the 90s and early 2000s, Eric Lively was making quite a name for himself (even though you probably never knew his name was Eric Lively). But these days, his younger sister, Blake, is the one whose taking over the spotlight. Blake, who starred in the TV series Gossip Girl, is one of Hollywood’s most beloved young stars and people just can’t seem to get enough of her. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case for Eric, but it hasn’t seemed to affect their relationship.

Trying to steal the spotlight from James Franco is a tough thing for anyone to accomplish, so imagine what it feels like to be his younger brother. However, despite the fact that Dave Franco isn’t as famous as his brother, he’s actually had a pretty successful career. In a little less than a decade, he’s already appeared in some pretty successful films including Charlie St. Cloud and 21 Jump Street. Not too shabby!

For a while, living in the shadow of Britney Spears might actually not be a bad thing. Sure, she’s always gotten a lot of attention, but it hasn’t always been good. But despite all of her mistakes, people still love Britney. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for her little sister, Jamie-Lynn. Although Jamie-Lynn made an attempt at a career in the spotlight, she just couldn’t seem to be pick up the same steam as her sister. Plus, when she gave birth to a child at just 17-years-old, Jamie-Lynn lost a lot of her young fan base.

Solange is probably the most famous of all of the celeb siblings, because being attached – in any way – to Beyoncé means automatic stardom. However, while Solange is talented and successful in her own right, she’ll always be most famous for being Beyoncé’s little sister. At this point, it seems like she’s even given up trying to separate herself from her superstar sis, and has embraced the fact that being the sister of a queen might not be such a bad thing.
