It’s no surprise that Kate Middleton has had a very busy year.  As a part of the royal family Middleton, who is well known for her impeccable fashion sense, makes many public appearances throughout the year and has aligned herself with several charities in order to make money for good causes.  Middleton also works with the community as a volunteer with the Scout Association of North Wales.  With a such a busy life that involves a constant flow of events and appearances, Middleton can be a very had person to keep track of; however, each year there are some moments so unforgettable that they deserve more mention.  Here is a list of Kate Middleton’s top five moments of 2014.

 5. Tour de France

At this year’s Tour de France, Kate Middleton, accompanied by Prince William and Prince Harry, awarded Marcel Kittel the yellow jersey for achieving first place in the  first stage of the race.

4. Three Tins

Kate Middleton received some press during the summer when she was photographed playing a popular South African game, three tins.  The game requires players to knock down three tins using a ball, re-stack them, and then hop over the stack of tins three times.  Middleton was able to do this while wearing a short blue dress and a pair of wedge heel shoes.

3. Royal Tour

This year Kate Middleton and her husband Price William have embarked on a royal tour and have made appearances at various locations throughout the world.  These royal tours are considered a great expression of friendly relations between two nations. While any sighting of the royal family is noteworthy, Middleton has gained a lot of attention for her incredible fashion sense, which never seems to disappoint.  Throughout the tour Middleton has been photographed wearing outfits and accessories from some of the world’s most well respected designers.

2. Hospice Visit

Time and time again, Kate Middleton has proven that she is a class act.  In June she paid a visit to Treehouse, a 24/7 hospice located in Suffolk, England for children with life-threatening illneses.  While visiting the hospice, Middleton was able to learn about the services offered and stated: “I have seen firsthand this remarkable and varied work and just how vital the support of staff and volunteers can be to the families of children with life limiting conditions…Please continue to support your local children’s hospice in whatever way you can.”

1. Pregnancy

Recently, the Royal Palace released a statement informing the world that Kate Middleton is pregnant with her second child.  According to the royal report, “The Queen and Prince Philip were given the good news on Sunday morning,” and “everyone is delighted.”  The announcement comes less than a year and a half after the birth of the couple’s first child, Prince George.  The newest member of the royal family is expected to be born some time in the spring.
