The Real Housewives franchise is huge; absolutely huge. Whether you love them or you hate them, chances are good that you watch them because they are so entertaining. These women, their husbands and boyfriends and kids make us laugh on a regular basis. They make us giggle and they make our eyebrows reach the tip-top of our foreheads as we watch their antics with confusion and questioning expressions, and we love them. Some of us love to hate them. Some of us just love them. Now that it’s been announced that Heather Dubrow, real housewife from Orange County, is about to start hosting her own talk show, it made is think that there are a few other faces we’d love to see in front of the camera bit more often.
Let’s be honest; these are women who are known for having their own amazing personalities – and they are always big. There are more than a few real housewives we’ve love to see with their own talk shows, but we’re going to keep the list a bit short. Before we go into which of the real housewives would make the best talk show hosts, let’s give an honorable mention to the women who did not quite make the list. For one, we’d love to see Kathy Wakile’s husband (from New Jersey) with his own talk show; he’s hilarious. It’s pretty safe to say that we’d love to see Tamra Judge from Orange County with her own show, but it would have to be more of a primetime, late night show with an X-rating. We’re positive.
But in all seriousness, if someone offered these five women their own show, I’d watch. Not because they seem as if they might make good talk show hosts, but more because I just want to hear them talk to other people, interview them and offer their own opinions to those who are looking for sage advice.
Bethenny Frankel – Real Housewives of New York City
She had her own talk show, and it was cancelled, but I’m so confused as to why. There is nothing about her I do not adore, and listening to her is just about as entertaining as anything else. She’s funny, she’s dry and she loves to be self-deprecating. She’s quick on her feet and always has the best questions for people. You just never know what’s about to come out of her mouth and that makes her even more hilarious. She makes us laugh on the regular and we’d love to see someone else give her another shot at being a successful talk show host. Perhaps a show with a bit more of a theme would be better for her – something like “Cocktails with B,” and we could just sit around and watch her sip wine and talk to other housewives so she can ask them what they were thinking.
Kathy Wakile – Real Housewives of New Jersey
If she is not the most humble, most down-to-earth housewife in the world, I don’t know who is. She is the mother of two, the wife of the hilarious Rich and she is the cousin to the crazy Theresa Giudice. She is known for being an amazing cook and an even better baker, so we’d love to see her with her own Food Network show. She could make all the canolis possible and have celebrity guests from other housewives franchises show up to help her make canolis. We’d actually love to see her get her famously imprisoned cookbook writing cousin on the show and ask her to actually show the world that she knows what she’s talking about in those cookbooks she’s been selling the past few years. Regardless, Kathy Wakile is likable, enjoyable and she’s calm. She might actually rock the talk show game.
Ramona Singer – Real Housewives of New York City
Oh, Ramona; there is nothing particularly about her that screams amazing talk show host, but she’s hilarious. I don’t think that she means to be hilarious, either, which just serves to make her even more hilarious. If we gave her a desk, a bottle of Pinot Grigio and a microphone, we could have a good hour of sheer entertainment. She could read the news or offer advice to couples in horrible relationships and we could laugh and laugh. She’d actually probably do a pretty good job of entertaining us as she’s so out of it most of the time. She comes across as a highly intelligent woman, but she seems to get lost in her own thoughts and her own very opinionated personality more often than not, and seeing that on a talk show would be the best.
Caroline Manzo – Real Housewives of New Jersey
Sure, she already has her own show and she’s already doing well without the franchise, but we love her and we want to see more of her. She’s one of the original housewives from New Jersey and we think that she would make a great talk show host. She has a radio show and she’s filled with advice. She’d be the kind of host that would listen to her guests, allow them to present their issues and then ask them what the heck they were thinking before immediately telling them how to fix their problems and their lives. She would actually make an amazing psychologist, but they’re not allowed to legally offer advice, so this is the next best way for her to take over the world and fix it.
Shannon Beador – Real Housewives of Orange County
For a long time, I was unsure what I thought about her. I’m actually still unsure. She’s a bit of a mess in terms of being all over the place from time to time, but she’s funny. She’s super into holistic and natural medication and that approach. What we envision for her hypothetical talk show is a show all about holistic medical approaches to life. We’d love to see her advice, hear from her doctors and see how many people she can help with her train of thought. And listening to her talk is always funny, so there’s also that.
