Jenny Slate, the actress who is in more different television shows than anyone can keep track of, will guest-star in the season two premiere of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The Fox comedy is beyond funny and resulted in two Golden Globes for its first season, including one for Best Comedy Series plus a win for its lead actor, star Andy Samberg. It was my personal favorite new show of the year, with more laughs than any show in recent memory and an amazing ensemble comedic team.
Slate is currently starring in Obvious Child, in theaters now. In the film, Jenny plays a female comedian having enough trouble growing up before she gets knocked up during a one night stand. It is a star-making turn for the cute, quirky 32-year old actress and comic, and should make Jenny’s more of a household name.
This funny lady has been around for years and has been in countless television shows. She was even a cast member of Saturday Night Live for one season, from 2009-2010. Despite a short stint on the show that ended with her getting fired, she was really likable and did what appeared to be a great job from the viewers perspective.
Since then, Slate has appeared in many hilarious comedy shows on a variety of networks. Her resume reads like an impressive list of unique and exceptional shows – Bored to Death, Bob’s Burgers, Raising Hope, Hello Ladies, Married, Kroll Show, House of Lies, and Parks and Recreation. She is also responsible for, along with her husband, the hilarious YouTube video series, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On. It’s her vocals that gives the adorable little creature his voice. So you know Jenny Slate’s voice and most likely her face. Now everyone should remember her name! Because with this trajectory, Slate is destined to stay on everyone’s comedy radar and become a big star.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine is slated (hehe) to air Sept. 28, 2014.
