Congratulations to sophomore college student Olivia Culpo for winning the 2012 Miss Universe pageant! Twenty-year-old Culpo won the title Wednesday night at the Planet Hollywood casino on the Las Vegas Strip, replacing outgoing champion Leila Lopes of Angola.
The Boston University sophomore’s coronation ends a long losing spell for the U.S. in the competition co-owned by Donald Trump and NBC. An American had not won the Miss Universe title since Brook Lee won in 1997.
It should be a great 2013 for Olivia as she’ll be going around the world and strutting her stuff as the champion. From what we’ve been told, the charity work, promotional work, and just all around experience of being a Miss Universe is something that the winners cherish for the rest of their lives.
Plus it helps being that attractive.
