Reasons Why Chris Pratt Will Be a Great SNL Host

Premiere Of Marvel's "Guardians Of The Galaxy" - Arrivals

It was revealed this week that It Actor Chris Pratt will be hosting the season premiere of Saturday Night Live. This is the 40th anniversary season for SNL, so there will be a prime-time celebration in addition to the season premiere on September 27. The Guardians of the Galaxy and Parks and Recreation star will be a phenomenal host. Here are the reasons why.

1) He is a great leading man.

As stated, Pratt starred in THE biggest movie of the summer season, which is the major season for blockbuster releases. Guardians of the Galaxy has made $586 million worldwide (as of this week), securing it as the biggest Marvel superhero movie  “starter” of all time at the global box office. The new film even surpassed the first Iron Man film, which started not only the successful trilogy of Iron Man movies but also led to Marvel’s The Avengers. 586 million dollars worth of people around the globe have been engrossed by this witty, goofy comedian, with Guardians evealing his ability to be a kick-butt action hero too. So basically, Pratt can do anything, so whatever skits the SNL writers dream up for him, you know he can knock them out of the park.

2) He’s nice to look at.

For Guardians of the Galaxy, Pratt got totally buff and has never looked better (can you say “ten-pack abs?”) He has launched himself onto the Top 5 lists of women of all ages (this writer included) and his approachable, sweet, and funny demeanor only make him more attractive. What woman wouldn’t mind watching him for a 90 minute SNL episode?

3) He’s an established comedian.

Pratt has been a scene stealer on the NBC hit Parks and Recreation since the very first episode in 2009. That’s 130 plus episodes. And he not only holds his own with comedic heavyweights Amy Poehler and Aziz Ansari, but sometimes they eat his dust. Poehler told Entertainment Weekly, “Pratt is very often the best improviser in the cast, which is really saying something.” Let’s hope we get to see some of those awesome improvisational skills at some point during the SNL episode.

4) He’s married to another comedic A-lister. And has lots of A-list friends.

Pratt’s wife is the lovely and super funny Anna Faris, star of the CBS comedy Mom. It would be fantastic and is very probable that Anna may stop by Roc Center for a cameo/guest appearance. And it’s SNL, and the premiere at that, so chances are that any of Pratt’s friends or co-stars may swing by too. Please, please make an appearance, Amy Poehler! She probably will.

Bet you all can’t wait to watch now.
