Saved By the Bell the Movie is Not What You Think

Saved by the Bell is long since over. We’ve seen the former stars of the show go their own separate ways, from becoming television stars on other shows to donning their dancing shoes on the hit reality show, Dancing with the Stars. We’ve seen some disappear into a more private lifestyle and we’ve seen some shoot to fame after the ended of the hit 90s sitcom (we’re talking to you Mario Lopez). What we haven’t seen, however, is any sort of reunion talk.

So while there is no actual real life Saved by the Bell reunion going on, Lifetime took it upon themselves to assume those of us that grew up watching the show would want a little something to commemorate our favorite high school friends. So what did Lifetime do? They filmed a Lifetime movie by the name, “The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Movie,” and they just released their first movie poster.

The movie will air on the Lifetime Network on Labor Day, which is less than a month away for fans that just can’t wait. The people playing everyone’s favorite characters even look a bit like the original actors. The movie will air at 9 pm EST.

While the movie is a bit of an interesting choice for the network, it seems that some of the former stars of the show are not interested in seeing a group of much younger kids come back to television to reprise their roles as everyone’s favorite 90s characters. Elizabeth Berkeley, who played bookworm and good girl – and girlfriend to Mario Lopez’s A.C. Slater –, for example, has been very outspoken over the fact that she is not tuning into Lifetime on Labor Day to watch someone else play her first major television role. Will you tune into watch the unofficial SBTB movie?
