The Pixar animated film “Finding Nemo” will spawn a follow-up big-screen movie titled “Finding Dory,” Walt Disney Studios Publicity announced today. The new movie is due out November 25, 2015. Ellen DeGeneres, who provided the voice of Dory, an affable but forgetful blue tang fish, in the original film, said in a statement that she had been waiting a long time for the movie to be launched. “I’m not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating ‘Toy Story 16.’ But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It’s got a lot of heart, it’s really funny, and the best part is—it’s got a lot more Dory.”
Given the financial success of ‘Nemo’ you can certainly understand why Degeneres was a little baffled about why it took so long. “Finding Nemo” raked in over $921 Million worldwide. Andrew Stanton, who directed the original, will also be directing “Finding Dory.” The new movie is supposed to be set a year after the first one and along the California coastline.
I can’t say I love the title “Finding Dory” but I’m sure this one will be a big hit.
