Sometimes it’s not good to be a reality star. At least it’s not good to be Teresa Giudice and husband Joe. The Real Housewives star and husband are facing up to 50 years in prison for an array of criminal money charges ranging from tax evasion to bank fraud. They are being indicted on 39 counts of fraud. That’s probably 38 more than the usual person gets. According to documents these two massively defrauded the IRS and other agencies from the years 2001-2008.
According to the U.S. Attorney, the Giudices conspired to illegally obtain mortgages and other loans from multiple banks by intentionally overestimating their incomes in order to get more money. In addition the two may have lied about their net worth back in 2009 which include’s wife Teresa’s income from the reality show.
Hubby Joe is accused of evading over $1MM in taxable income from 2004-2008. As stated they were hit with 39 charges in total. Other charges included mail fraud, wire fraud, and bank fraud. Some counts carry up to 20 years and some up to 30 if convicted.
Clearly we don’t think the couple is going to be away for 50 years but this is a pretty alarming indictment for them. We’ll keep you posted.
