Five Classic Rick Ross Quotes about Food

Rick Ross

Rick Ross is known for his grandiose persona.  The Florida based rapper has devoted many of his songs to rapping about his lavish lifestyle, drug affiliation, and expensive tastes.  When Ross released his debut single, “Hustlin'” in the summer of 2006, fans quickly fell in love with his raw style and confident flow.  However, Ross’ larger than life image isn’t just limited to his words.  At his heaviest, Ross weighed approximately 350 pounds, a fact that he was never ashamed of.

Ross, who often performs shirtless, has always seemscomfortable in his skin.  Unfortunately, in the fall of 2011, Ross suffered two seizures within a 24 hour period which caused him to be hospitalized.  After his health issues, Ross announced that he wanted to lose weight and put himself in a “better position.”  Although Ross has lost nearly 100 pounds, he admits that his diet has changed very little.  In honor of his love for all things tasty, here are Rick Ross’ best quotes about food.

5. “…they give me fruit to eat. I forgot what fruit, you know, tasted like. I eat pears now…”

In an interview discussing his amazing weight loss, Ross shared that his eating habits had become so unhealthy that he forgot what fruit tasted like.

4. “Am I really just a narcissist/ ‘Cause I wake up to a bowl of lobster bisque?”

In his song, “I Love My…” Ross questions whether or not waking up to lobster bisque makes him narcissistic.  Although waking up to a delicious bowl of creamy soup every day could mean a number of things, narcism probably isn’t one of them.

3. “I remember when I couldn’t afford to eat like this. It was ramen noodles and the San Francisco Treat [Rice-A-Roni]. Dessert? Get you a honey bun and put a slice of cheese on it. Put it in the microwave for 45 seconds and you had the gift of a lifetime.”

During an interview Ross remembers when he wasn’t fortunate enough to afford fancy meals.

2.”Waking up to turkey bacon and my thick queen…”

In his song, “Sixteen,” Ross brags again about waking up to something tasty.  This time; however, its turkey bacon (at least it’s turkey) and a woman whose thick in all the right places.

1. “I ain’t gonna lie: I love that cheese.”

In the hip-hop community cheese could mean a number of things; however, this time, Ross is simply referring to the food.
