Jason Aldean’s Fan Club Propels Country Star to Top of Charts

CMT Artists Of The Year 2013 - Red Carpet

Jason Aldean, America’s favorite country boy, recently released his latest album, “Old Boots, New Dirt.” And while the album is quite good, it’s his fans that have taken over the spotlight – especially on social media. Aldean’s Army, the name his fans have adopted for themselves, have flocked to the internet with their love of this country star’s music. Both Twitter and Facebook have exploded with fan pages, each garnering over thousands of likes/follows. In fact, his Facebook fan club page has over 36,787 likes (and still growing), while his Twitter Fan Club, aptly named @JasonAldeanFC, has 15.2K followers.

Clearly, he has had no problem garnering support from his fans, and it’s actually them that have kept Aldean at the top of the music charts. Because despite the new album being taken down off the popular music streaming site, Spotify – which historically is detrimental to one’s record sales – it is has been quite successful. “Old Boots, New Dirt” debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200, with the third best opening week sales of the year (followed by Coldplay and Eric Church). So evidently, his record-setting sales must be, at least in part, owed to the dedication of his fans.

With the famous tweets via #aldeanarmy and electric Facebook page, his fans are not afraid to vocalize their love for this country star. In fact, just recently more fan clubs have popped up on social media. Just search Jason Aldean on any social site and you’re sure to see several fan clubs that are entirely devoted to the star. On these pages, fans recite his lyrics, comment on his whereabouts, and proclaim their general love of his music.

Thus far, Aldean has heavily enjoyed the benefits of being a hit country star, both through record sales and name recognition. Just this past year even, he won the ACM Award for male vocalist of the year, an honor that he shares with some of the greatest country music stars in history – such as, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, and Kenny Chesney.

So just five years after his first big hit in 2009, “Big Green Tractor,” Aldean has managed to propel himself to the forefront of country music and establish himself as a household name. Thanks to his Fan Club, the Aldean Army, his fame has even surpassed the country music world, and seeped into mainstream culture via his strong fan base on social media. So make sure to thank your Fan Club, Jason Aldean, because they’re what keeps you moving forward.
