William Dafoe

William Dafoe is one of the most popular villains in Hollywood. Throughout his career, his sinister facial expressions have made him the perfect person to portray evil characters.  While most people would be offended by being told that they look evil, Dafoe seems to embrace his looks.  During an interview, he stated: “It’s true in the beginning I started playing villains. If you don’t conventionally look a certain way and you’ve got a certain kind of presence when you’re young, then what’s available to you is character roles, and the best character roles when you’re young tend to be villains.” In another interview, Dafoe went on to say, “I guess they often cast me as the bad guy, because I’m not, er, conventional looking. I look sort of violent. I’m the odd one out, the outsider.” However, Dafoe also noted that his personal life does not resemble that of his characters on-screen.
