Once many celebrities reach the place in their career that they’ve always dreamed of – they realize how fickle fame can be. After years of hard work and dedication, it’s not uncommon for celebrities who were once on top to find themselves slowly sinking to the bottom. Unfortunately, many of these stars never regain their footing, and what looked like a promising and long-lasting career quickly falls to pieces. Unlike one hit wonders, these people had established careers and many thought they would be around for years to come. While many of their stories are different, the outcomes are all the same. Here are 20 of the quickest falls from A list to D list.

Ja Rule
During the early 2000s, Ja Rule was one of the hottest rappers in the game. He had hit after hit after hit, and for a while it really seemed like he was never going to miss. However, by the mid 2000s, Ja’s career seemed to be on the decline after his beef with fellow rapper, 50 Cent escalated to the point where 50 made it his personal mission to ruin Ja Rule’s career. In the blink of an eye it was almost like he disappeared, and unfortunately, he’s never been able to make a comeback.

Tony Danza
From the late 70s to early 90s, Tony Danza was one of the most popular and most consistent faces on TV. However, when Who’s the Boss? ended in 1992, Danza’s career began to slow down. Although he still continue’s to gain roles,

Rob Schneider
Like many of Hollywood’s most hilarious people, Rob Schneider got his start on the popular sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live. After being on the show, Schneider’s career took off, and he appeared in several movies. As of now, his resume includes a list of several great movies including Duece Bigalow and Grown Ups. However, even with his legendary status in the industry, Schneider is definitely no longer as popular as he once was.

Fat Joe
Like Ja Rule, Fat Joe’s career was also ruined by 50 Cent after the pair’s beef spiraled out of control. However, before 50 hit the scene determined to ruin Joe’s career, he was one of the most popular artists on the mainstream scene. Joe had hits like “What’s Love” and “Lean Back” and everyone thought he would go on to have a legendary career like his friend, the late Big Pun. However, things just didn’t go that way for Joe, and also instantly he became a has been.

PeeWee Herman
Portrayed by Paul Reubans, PeeWee Herman was extremely popular throughout the 80s. By the time the 90s rolled around, it seemed like the sky was the limit for PeeWee. Unfortunately for him; however, he was arrested in 1991 for masturbating in public, and many fans began to look at him differently. Although many celebrities who knew Reuban personally spoke out on his behalf, it seemed the damage had already been done.

Tiger Woods
For years, Tiger Woods was the most popular professional golfer in the sport. In fact, even people who did not like golf were familiar with Tiger and his immense talent. However, after his wife caught him cheating in 2009 – Tiger’s career and personal life both began to suffer. In the years since the incident, many people here kind of hit the mute button on him – especially when you’re not winning like you used to.

Lindsay Lohan
As a child and teenager, Lindsay Lohan dominated all of Disney’s films. Everybody loved her, and couldn’t wait to see what she was going to do next. However, as Lohan got older, things started to change. She quickly became more well-known for partying and drinking than any movie she had ever appeared in. After a slew of arrests and stints in rehab, Lohan quickly lost her place on the celebrity A-list.

Lil Kim
During the 90s and early 2000s, Lil Kim was one of the only female rappers in the game. As a result, she reigned as the queen of Brooklyn and she had developed a very strong group of countless vans. However, as time passed, Lil Kim’s career began to decline, and before anyone (including her) knew it, she had fallen from the rank o hip-hop royalty. Although she has tried several ways to get her back to the top, she just can’t seem to regain the traction she used to have.

Mike Vick
When Mike Vick started his career in the NFL, he quickly became one of the most popular quarterbacks in the league. However, in 2007, he was involved in a very high-profile court case after he had been found guilty for his involvement in a dog fighting sing. Since then, Vick’s career has really struggled. Although he has been very apologetic about his actions, and seems genuinely sorry, there are man people wj’ kist don’t think it’s enough.

Brian Austin Green
For 10 years, Brian Austin Green starred on the popular series, Beverly Hills, 90210. Although all of the characters on the show had become popular, Green was a heart throb and everyone thought his career would continue his career after the show went off the air. However, that simply wasn’t the case, and now a new generation of people will only know him as Megan Fox’s husband.

Macaulay Culkin
Macaulay Culkin was once the richest and most well-known child star in Hollywood. He starred in several popular films like Home Alone and Richie Rich. However, after 1994, Culkin ‘retired’ from acting, and disappeared from the scene for nearly a decade. He also had some personal issues with his parents – who had been in charge of his money – causing him to be estranged from his father.

MC Hammer
MC Hammer may have been too legit to quit, but that didn’t keep his career from falling into oblivion. After releasing a few albums in the 80s, Hammer gained mainstream success in 1991 with the release of his album, Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt ‘Em, which featured the hit single, “Can’t Touch This.” Hammer would go on to have more success throughout the early 90s, but as the hip-hop industry began to change, his style of music was becoming less and less popular. By the mid 90s, his career had hit rock bottom, and in 1996 he filed for bankruptcy.

Pauly Shore
Throughout the 80s and 90s, it seemed like comedian, Pauly Shore, was everywhere. From feature films to MTV, the public just couldn’t get enough of Shore’s sense of humor. However, by the mid 90s, Shore’s popularity was beginning to wane. Although he still works regularly, there’s a good chance that many people today would not be able to put a face to Pauly Shore’s name.

Mike Myers
Mike Myers rose to prominence during the late 80s for his appearances on Saturday Night Live. During the 90s, his career really began taking off with appearances in classic films such as Wayne’s World and Austin Powers. Myers’ characters were some of the most popular in comedic film, and everyone seemed to love him. However, now, when people mention Mike Myers most people are probably sitting there wondering what ever happened to him. It’s almost like one day he was on top, and then the next, he wasn’t.

Mischa Barton
Former child star, Mischa Barton, became extremely popular in 2003 when she landed a starring role in the series The O.C. Barton’s character, Marissa Cooper, was a popular high school student who lived a luxurious life in California. When her character killed off the show, everyone thought Barton planned to move on to bigger and better things, but it never seemed to happen. In the years since the show, Barton has had several legal issues and has admitted that she suffers from a mental disorder.

Amanda Bynes
There was once a time when sweet little Amanda Bynes could do no wrong. As a former Nickelodeon star, Bynes managed to enter the adult acting world with little to n hiccups. However, things didn’t stay good for long. Bynes’ behavior soon became unpredictable and she decided to retire from acting. Shortly after her retirement, Bynes came out of retirement only to retire again. Bynes began behaving strangely, and every time she appeared in public there was always a peculiar story to go along with it. For a while, Bynes gained a lot of her attention for her crazy antics, but eventually even that wore off.

Michael Richards is best known for his role as Kramer on the hit sitcom Seinfeld. Widely considered one of the best shows of all-time, Seinfeld has gone down in history. While the show as on the air, the cast members were considered from of the most famous stars in the industry, but unlike both Seinfeld and Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine), Richards has been away from the spotlight. He also has a history of making offensive comments which may have held people from voting, as well as making sure that he has long nails.

She walked on runways all over the world, and worked with some of the biggest names in the industry. For a few reasons, Janice also appeared as a judge on Tyra Banks’ America’s Next Top Model. Although the show helped bring Dickinson back into the spotlight, it was clear that many people had no idea who she was.

During his run on the popular sitcom, One Tree Hill, Chad Michael Murray was one of the most popular stars on TV. Aside from the show, he also found some success on the big screen and people – especially his female fans – loved him. In 2009, when Murray left One Tree Hill to pursue other opportunities, many fans were stunned. Not only did the show suffer without him, but Murray’s career didn’t really seem to do any better when he wasn’t on the show. Now, his star status has seriously declined, and it seems like his days as one of the celebrity elite are over.

Lance Armstrong
Lance Armstrong was once an inspiration to people all over the world. After battling cancer, Armstrong continued to be an exceptional athlete who rode his way into the record books. His LiveStrong foundation had earned millions of supporters and it was extremely common to see people wearing yellow bracelets in support. However, when it was revealed that Armstrong had been using performance enhancing drugs during some of his competitions, many people lost respect for him and he was shunned from the sport of cycling.
