5 Celebs Who Ditched Their Wives for Something Younger

The term mid-life crisis is used pretty loosely across the country. In fact, when my husband turned 29 three years ago and made the decision to buy a two-seater convertible in a gorgeous shade of candy apple red, most people assumed he was in the midst of a mid-life crisis. That is, after all, what you do when you’re at that point, right? You get rid of your practical vehicle for a red sports car and then trade in your wife for a younger version of her former self, correct (I actually prompted my husband to buy his sports car since I’m home with the kids and need an SUV and I missed driving my pre-kids convertible)? It’s not necessarily true for all men and women, but for some of the most famous men in Hollywood it seems the old clichés are actually true. These men left their wives for much younger women, and it seems that they might have been going through a little something that prompted them to get rid of their reality for something a little more fantastical.

Johnny Depp

He’s now married to Amber Heard, but he was 50 when he left his longtime love, Vanessa Paradis, the mother of his two children after a relationship that spanned more than 14 years. His new wife was only 27 at the time.

Rowan Atkinson

He left his wife of more than 23 years for someone more than 20 years his junior, and it’s all thought that he was doing this out of the desire to be younger, live younger and be a happier man. We don’t know if that worked out for him, though; his wife was a lovely woman.

Kelsey Grammer

He left his famous Real Housewife and business partner after 13 years of marriage to run off and marry a flight attendant after reportedly getting her pregnant. Kayte Grammer is 26 years younger than her new husband.

Ryan Phillipe

He and Reese Witherspoon divorced several years ago when he was caught allegedly cheating on her with one of his much younger costars. He never married her, but he’s since been seen out and about with women far younger, including one girlfriend who is actually 17 years his junior.

Ronnie Wood

The Rolling Stone really did a number to his personal life when he left his wife of more than 23 years. Not only did he choose a younger woman, he chose a MUCH younger woman. The then 61-year-old man began dating a woman by the name of Ekaterina Ivanova, who was only 18 at the time.
