Simon Cowell gained mainstream success during his tenure as a judge on FOX’s popular talent search competition show, American Idol. Cowell, became well-known for his extremely critical comments which usually started with his famous signal phrase, “I don’t mean to be rude but…” Although Cowell’s TV persona has given many viewers the impression that he’s a full-time jerk, he has proven that there is more to him than just sarcastic remarks.
