Brad Paisley and Country Superstars Help Sick Kids

It was a country music event with a lot of country music stars; the Grand Ole Opry’s celebration for the 25th Anniversary of Country Cares for St. Jude Kids even was put on Tuesday night, and Brad Paisley was just one of the biggest stars of the night in attendance. Along with Paisley, stars such as Charlie Daniels and even Randy Owen made an appearance to help benefit the kids of St. Judes. Paisley opened up about his feelings on the event.

“It goes back to what Randy told me the day I met him, which was at St. Jude. He said, ‘Look, whatever awards you win, whatever accomplishments you rack up, they will pale in comparison to things like this. And you look back at the lives that you affected for the better, and the good things that you did will be the things you wish you’d done more of and the things you’ll be proudest of,’ and he’s right,” said Paisley about the first time he met Randy Owen, who was the creator of this event in 1989.

Paisley was the star of the night as he closed out the show with songs from his brand new album, Moonshine in the Trunk. He also teamed up with Owen for a duet of “Old Alabama,” which the audience loved. However, the most touching moment of the evening goes to Charlie Daniels and Audrey Stanger, a 9-year-old patient at St. Jude’s. He presented the little girl with a signed guitar.

“I really want to learn to play. I had no idea what was going on but Daniel’s brought me out and he signed it and he gave it to me and he wanted me to stay out for the next couple of songs,” she said of her moment in the spotlight. It’s always amazing when celebrities get together to change the lives of children who so desperately need it.
