Brad Paisley Reveals The Gender of Carrie Underwood’s Baby at the CMAs

There’s always something to talk about after the CMAs, and today is no different. Last night, longtime hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood were just as engaging and entertaining as ever, but it seems that Brad Paisley slipped up and spilled a little secret of Underwood’s, like the sex of her first baby.

She announced over the summer in a very adorable manner that she and her husband of several years, Mike Fisher, are expecting their first child. Last night, Brad Paisley told the world what it is. Of course, we’re certain he had permission before he spilled the beans, but that doesn’t make his admonition any less hilarious.

“We’re pregnant. Can you please just tell me what we’re having?” the host begged Underwood while the two were on stage together. Underwood went ahead and whispered her secret to her co-host who immediately teased the crowed, “I’m so happy! I know something ya’ll don’t know.”

For the next few minutes it almost looked as if it would stay that way as the two joked back and forth about important world events such as Ebola and Renee Zellweger, but then Paisley broke the news.

“We could name him Garth,” he teased Underwood, who wants the famed country singer Garth Brooks to sign her baby. “What are you doing? What’s wrong with you? You gotta be kidding me. You kept that secret for a whole two minutes!” Underwood joked back.

So now that the cat is out of the bag, it looks like it’s going to be bowties and mudpies for the country music superstar and former American Idol winner and her hockey husband. And while neither commented about the spilled beans, it’s undoubtedly safe to say they probably didn’t care overly much one way or the other so long as they have a healthy baby.
