The Brittany Murphy Story to Air on Lifetime
Fans of Clueless, 8 Mile and a myriad of other projects have mixed feelings about the upcoming Brittany Murphy biopic on Lifetime. The television movie will show the life and career of the actress, who passed away at the age of 32, much to everyone’s shock. Murphy’s personal life was often documented on the news, but it’s a mystery as to who provided the inside information about her childhood and her years growing up, as her mother, Sharon Murphy, denies that Lifetime ever contacted her about the biopic.
The Brittany Murphy Story will air on September 6 on the Lifetime Network. The movie is said to be 2 hours long and will include parts of Murphy’s life growing up and in the limelight leading up to her death. The actress passed away in 2009 after battling pneumonia. Her husband, Simon Monjack, died only five months after his wife.
Amanda Fuller, from Grey’s Anatomy, will portray the adult version of Murphy, while Sherilyn Fenn from Twin Peaks will play Murphy’s mother. There has been no word on who will play the actress’ late husband in the film. While no one knows much about the television movie yet, there have been rumors that it will include everything from her childhood growing up in the 1980s to her desire to become an actress. The movie will allegedly show the actress’ life until she passes away, providing insider information that even her most dedicated fans do not currently know about the actress. However, where the television network received their information is something they have yet to announce.
According to representatives speaking on behalf of Sharon Murphy, the late actress’ mother, no one from Lifetime ever contacted her about the biopic in any way, and she has not contributed any information or personal stories to the movie.
