Christina Aguilera Welcomes Baby Girl

Christina Aguilera, 33, and her fiancé, Matt Rutler, are new parents. The couple, who announced their engagement and pregnancy in February, welcomed a little girl by the name of Summer Rain over the weekend. Baby makes two for Aguilera, who has a 6-and-a-half year old son, Max, with her ex-husband, Jordan Bratman.

“So proud to welcome our beautiful daughter Summer Rain Rutler into the world,” Aguilera announced early Monday morning via Twitter. The gender of the baby did not come as a surprise to the new parents, or the rest of the world after the couple announced that they were expecting a little girl a month after revealing Aguilera’s pregnancy.

This pregnancy was smooth for the singer. She’s been very outspoken regarding this second pregnancy, her excitement over having a little girl and even her body. Earlier this summer, the sometimes-risque singer took it upon herself to show the world just how much she’s embracing her body while it was working miracles when she posed – sans clothing – for a photo spread in V Magazine.

“As a woman, I’m proud to embrace my body through all stages of life, staying fearless and confident in surrendering to the unknowns the future has in store,” she said when she posed nude. The photo shoot was a bit controversial, as so many things the singer does, but was widely received by her fans as a moment of power and confidence.

Summer Rain came into the world August 16 in California. Aguilera shared her announcement but has yet to share any photos or stats regarding the baby’s size. It’s assumed, however, that both mommy and daughter are doing just fine. Whether or not Summer Rain’s big brother has been by to meet his new sister yet is a mystery, but if she’s like most other new moms, Aguilera isn’t going to be able to stop herself from sharing photos of her new family for much longer.
