Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchinson Renewing Their Vows

It’s a match made in, well, not Heaven. Courtney Stodden and Doug Hutchinson shocked the world (and that’s saying a lot this day and age) when the couple wed several years ago. She was a 16-year-old child and he a 51-year-old man. Their marriage has been discussed in the tabloids, media and just about everywhere else since, with the world calling her a gold-digger and he a pedophile. When Stodden filed for legal separation from her much older husband only 9 months ago, the world was convinced it was right; she’d found the fame she wanted and ditched her much older husband.

But wait…it seems the world might not have been as right as it thought. Just 9 months later, the couple is back together and happier than ever. Now 19 and 54 respectively, the couple has decided to end their legal separation and renew their wedding vows. After appearing on Big Brother in the U.K., Stodden realized that the single life just wasn’t all it was cracked up to be and went back to her husband. Her mother spoke about the controversial couple’s marriage, separation and her daughter’s changing opinion.

“She jumped into a marriage, but she’s come full circle and decided the she made the right choice the first time. She realized what a wonderful man she really had,” said Stodden’s mother of the man her daughter met online and married a short time later.

“She got a taste of being single when she went to the Big Brother house in the U.K. She did date, but she found out that she really, really loves Doug and he’s the one she wants to spend the rest of her life with,” she continues. With just over three years of marriage, almost a year of that spent separated, behind them, the couple is planning their vow renewal to remind themselves and the rest of the world just how much they love one another.
