Debby Ryan Stands on her Own Two Feet to Fight Against Domestic Violence

Standing on her own two feet and standing up against violence in relationships is what Debby Ryan is doing now. Many people would love to be wearing the designer shoes on Debby Ryan’s feet; living life as a 21-year-old actress and producer, rich and famous and happy in all areas of her life. Or so it seemed; what most of the world – even her closest friends and family – did not know was that for a long time, she was involved in a very abusive relationship. What’s shocking about this is that she did not even know she was involved in a relationship like this since she was not technically involved in the relationship. It was not a relationship of romantic proportions. In fact, she was involved in a relationship with a male that was strictly platonic and it took her a while to realize that she was not involved in something with a person that she loved.

The abuse she suffered was traumatic, and it made her realize that you can suffer emotional and verbal and even physical abuse at the hands of people with whom you are not romantically involved, and it’s just as dangerous. And now that she’s removed this friend from her life and moved on from where she was, she’s standing up on her own two feet for other girls and women everywhere bringing awareness to those who need it the most. She’s making sure that people of all ages, shapes and sizes know that abuse of any type is just not acceptable, and she’s making herself the public face for overcoming adversity. It takes a lot for a young woman to be honest with the entire world about being a victim, but she’s no longer a victim. She’s a survivor and she’s taking a stand for herself and others all over the world.
