Five Reasons We Love Caitlyn Jenner Posing Naked With Gold Medal for Sports Illustrated

Caitlyn Jenner

The world is currently filled with two kinds of people; those who love the idea that Bruce Jenner has admitted that he identifies as a woman and is not afraid to turn his life around this late into the game to live his way, and those who are appalled. Well, we have some bad news for those of you who completely hate that he has turned into a she and that she is now living her life in the spotlight more than anyone else in the world at the current moment in time. Caitlyn Jenner is going to pose with Bruce Jenner’s Olympic Gold Medal on the cover of an upcoming edition of Sports Illustrated. Not only that, friends, she will be nude.

Perhaps you wonder how that is possible considering the fact that as far as we know, she has not yet been through any official gender transition with a surgeon. I know I’m wondering how it’s possible. What I assume, though, is that those medals will be strategically placed, a lot of tape will be used to keep things where they need to be and not in our faces and angles, lighting and probably a little bit of Photo Shop might make it all possible.

You can hate it all you want, but the reality of this situation is that the world is learning to accept and embrace those we have long considered ‘different’ and ‘strange’ in society. Normal is no longer really a thing so much as it is a question. What is normal? My normal is vastly different than your own normal, I’m certain. As far as I’m concerned, everyone can live their lives their own way as they wish so long as their own personal choices do not hurt anyone else. I simply have too much on my own plate with my own life to care how others live their own. Perhaps I’m just that confident in my own life. Either way, though, I think it’s pretty amazing that this is happening, and I’m going to check out the cover when it hits newsstands or the internet or a Kardashian Instagram page – whichever is first. I think it’s great; and I’ll tell you why.

Acceptance

This is more than just a man turning into a woman getting naked and taking a few photos with some pretty medals. This is a lesson in acceptance. I want my kids to know that no two people are the same, and that you can live in a world where you can be who you want to be and people will accept that. I also want them to know that it is the right thing to accept differences.

Confidence

Anyone who poses nude any time or anywhere gets major props in my book. To be able to do that screams confidence, and we live in a world where more people need more confidence on a daily basis.

Progression

The world is not the same place it once was. That’s a good thing. We have learned to progress throughout the years, and allowing Caitlyn Jenner to get nude and take some photos shows that we continue to progress. I like that.

Respect

You don’t have to like or approve of the way that she lives her life, but you do have to respect that we all make personal decisions that have nothing to do with you. Until she kills someone, harms a child or does something horrible like that, we at least have to respect her for putting aside her fears and doing what’s right for her.

Tolerance

I want my kids to know that tolerance is imperative. I want them to see that there are people who don’t like what Bruce Jenner did, but they are tolerant of his decision and they live their own lives without wasting energy being hateful. I want them to see that the world is a place that they have to learn tolerance or they will be forever unhappy; this is a perfect lesson for people who need that one. My kids can learn to be tolerant of people who make decisions that they may or may not agree with – that’s what is important.
