Five Things You didn’t Know about Matthew Morrison

Matthew Morrison is a Jack of all trades. This singer, songwriter, dancer, and actor, is best known for his role William Schuester on Fox’s popular show, Glee; however, Morrison is more than just the glee club loving Spanish teacher that many of his fans know and love.  Morrison has been working steadily since 2002 and has a acting credits that include film, telivivision, and stage productions.  While fans of Morrison’s work may feel like they know the 35 year old star,  like most other celebrities there are a few things that remain relatively unknown about this multi-talented entertainer.  Here are five things you didn’t know about Matthew Morrison.

5. Matthew Morrison has released two studio albums.

In May 2011 Morrison released his first album, self titled Matthew Morrison, which reached 24 on the U.S. charts.  Morrison’s debut album also contains a song featuring the legendary Elton John, titled “Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters/Rocket Man” In 2013 Morrison released another album titled, Where It All Began which peaked at 95 on the U.S. charts.

4.  Matthew Morrison has worked with Full House’s Jodie Sweetin.

In high school, Morrison acted in a musical along side actress Jodie Sweetin who played the beloved character Stephanie Tanner on the hit sitcom Full House.  According to Sweetin, her and Morrison attended “Orange County High School of the Arts and were in the musical theater program together.”

3. Matthew Morrison was class president and prom king.

Matthew Morrison had a high school career that many people only hope to experience.  Not only was Morrison voted class president and prom king, he was also dated the homecoming queen, and was the captain of his school’s soccer team.

2. Matthew Morrison has been in three “fake” boy bands.

Shortly after Morrison first moved to New York, he joined a boy band called Fresh Step.  The band, which Morrison refers to as “fake,” performed on David Letterman’s Late Show.  Morrison was also in the fake band Boys R Us which performed in the movie Marci X, and the fake boy band Tuff Boyz, who were featured in a Dunkin’ Donuts commercial.

1. Matthew Morrison has delivered two babies while in high school.

During high school, while with his father on “take your kid to work day,” Morrison actually delivered two babies.  Morrison’s father is one of only only 50 male midwives in the United States and according to Morrison, “I actually delivered two babies myself. I was 18 years old. I went in there, my dad kind of told me what to do, I took the baby and my dad kind of swooped in.”
