Does George Lopez Love to Make Enemies in Comedy?
We all know and love George Lopez. He’s an amazing comedian with a lot to offer his audience, a number of successful family shows that we’ve all watched and enjoyed, and he had what seemed like the most wonderful marriage in Hollywood. It was in 2004 that Lopez opened up about this health issues and the fact that he was desperately in need of a new kidney or he would not live much longer. His wife, Ann, of approximately 11 years at that point underwent surgery to donate a kidney to her husband. After two successful surgeries, both recovered and went on to live a much healthier lifestyle together. It shocked the world when the couple announced just 6 years later than they decided to divorce. After all, she gave him a kidney and that’s not enough to keep their marriage together?
It seems, however, that his failed marriage to his wife is not his only issue with others. George Lopez might be one of the kings of comedy, but he’s not so good at personal relationships, often calling out people whom he once considered close friends in interviews, on social media and on television. His lack of filter causes strife in his personal relationships, and the comedian has lost several important friends along the way thanks to his classless remarks and his inability to keep his personal feelings private. So, just who has the comedian lost friendships with over the years? Some of the biggest comedians in Hollywood, for starters.
Carlos Mencia
Lopez accused Mencia of stealing a bunch of his material to use in his own special, and has claimed that the two have come to physical blows over the fact that Mencia stole his material. There has been no resolution to this; nor any proof it’s true.
Kirstie Alley
After he saw her on Dancing with the Stars, he tweeted that the actress is a pig. It didn’t go over very well, even after he apologized for his remarks. Alley wasn’t interested, and she responded to his apology telling him she didn’t want it and then calling him out as an alcohol and all around bad person.
Jay Leno
Back in 2007, Lopez called Leno, who was a close friend of his, a back-stabber, a two-faced person and even a terrible interviewer. Needless to say, his comments in the interview he was doing with a radio station did not go over well with Leno, who wasn’t thrilled with the harsh words his one-time friend issued about him.
