It’s a Girl for Chelsea Clinton
Could the potential future President of the United States (and potential first female president) be any more excited about the weekend she just had? The answer is probably not. Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton have an even better title than any of their past titles, and it’s grandparents. The couple’s daughter just gave birth to a baby girl, making the Clinton’s first time grandparents, and the entire family is loving every moment of the new addition to their family.
“Marc and I are full of love, awe and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinky,” Chelsea Clinton posted to Twitter on Friday, September 26. The activist and former NBC News correspondent hasn’t been taking it easy in the days leading up to her daughter’s birth. She was, in fact, at the Clinton Global Initiative just days before the baby was born. She was so pregnant and so ready to deliver that even the president joked about it during his speech.
“If Chelsea begins delivery while I’m speaking, she has my motorcade and will be able to navigate traffic,” he joked to his audience. Her parents have also been on standby and making comments in their own public speeches about running off stage if they get a phone call that there is a baby on the way. While Grandparents’ Clinton have not made any public comments yet about their new granddaughter, they’ve made plenty in the past. It wasn’t too long ago that Secretary Clinton made the statement that she wants to babysit.
“I want to babysit any chance I get!” she said to reporters over the summer. Of course, if she finally decides to make an official announcement as to whether or not she plans on running for president in 2016, she won’t have quite as much time to babysit with her campaigning.
