Kelly Rowland and Husband Welcome Son
Babies babies everywhere! Last night marked a big arrival in Hollywood in terms of new celebrity babies, with Robert Downey Jr. and his wife welcoming their new daughter, and then news broke that Kelly Rowland, former Destiny’s Child member, gave birth to a little boy.
Rowland and her husband, Tim Witherspoon, welcomed their son on Monday in the early afternoon. The little boy was given the name Titan Jewell, and he was born at a respectable 7 lbs. 5 oz, and his family is beyond excited to finally meet their newest addition.
“We are thrilled to annouce that today we are the proud parents of our first son! We are blessed to report everyone is happy and healthy,” said Rowland in a public statement. It seems that this is the moment Rowland has been waiting for, despite appearing to embrace and enjoy her pregnancy (unlike all other moms who aren’t waiting for this moment, right?). The singer was very open about her pregnancy, her body and the gender of her new baby before he was born, and she was a great role model to those who are going through some difficulties in accepting the changes that pregnancy causes the female body.
It was only October when she was involved in a nude photo shoot that showed off her burgeoning baby belly and made the statement that women should celebrate what their bodies can do.
“I took a birthing class and I was amazing by all the things this woman was saying to me about birthing and what the body does naturally. Why wouldn’t you want to celebrate that?” she said in a statement after she took her nude photos. She also joked in September that she’d have “two” babies if you count her husband, so we will see how he adjusts to being one of her two main men in the coming weeks.
