Kendall Jenner Drops the Jenner in her Professional Career
All the most famous models seem to go by nothing more than their first names, and young model Kendall Jenner has decided she’d like to do the same. The young sister of the Kardashians has decided she’s dropping Jenner professionally and going only by Kendall. This news comes only a few weeks after the fresh-faced model tells the world that she’s felt her last name has been more a hindrance than a help in terms of her career. Perhaps being referred to only by her first name is her answer to that issue.
“People think that this success just came to me. But it didn’t. What I have has almost worked against me. I had to work even harder to get where I wanted because people didn’t take me seriously as a model…I went on casting and some people weren’t feeling me because of my name. But it was great when people didn’t recognize me. I was like, ‘Thank you. Please don’t recognize me,” she recently said to LOVE magazine regarding her name and her success.
Jenner’s agency, The Society Management, is the agency for several of the world’s most famous models, including Adriana Lima. According to the agency’s website, Jenner’s profile is notably missing the addition of her last name on her profile. However, other famous models, including Lima, are still listed by their first and last names.
She was previously listed on the site as Kendall Jenner on her professional profile, and the name drop is something new. It’s missing on both her profile and the agency’s homepage, which is what leads the world to believe that the superstar has dropped her last name so that she can go by just her first. Perhaps it will help her in her future modeling endeavors; not that she needs any help if her current success is any indication.
