Nate Diaz is an American mixed martial artist with an estimated net worth of $610 thousand. Born on April 16, 1985, he was born in Stockton, California. He has a younger brother and the two train together for their work in the martial arts business. Additionally, he and his brother Nick have their own school in California where they teach their students something called Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He rose to fame as a contestant on the show The Ultimate Fighter 5 and has since learned a lot about the business. He was the winner of the final show, making him more famous than any of the other competitors that season.

When he joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship, he was concerned that the men he was matched with to fight were not strong enough. He began asking for more challenging competitors in an effort to make more of a name for himself. His professional career has him listed at competing in 29 fights and losing 10 of them. He is not necessarily the best fighter in the world yet as he has lost a third of all his fights. However, he is rising to fame more than ever after he was named the to fight against the infamous Conor McGregor at the UFC 196 on March 5, 2016. McGregor was the undisputed prediction as winner, and Nate Diaz only found out about the fight 11 days before it took place. He was named after the original fighter, Rafael dos Anjos, was injured and unable to show up for the fight.

This comes on the heels of missing a fight against the same injured fighter at the end of 2014. Nate Diaz spent a full year away from fighting as he made the decision to focus on other aspects of his life. He was not on weight during the fight, and he was fined a fifth of his winnings. The fight was one-sided on all accounts, and Diaz lost. He did, however, take out Conor McGregor during the fight he had only 11 days for which to prepare. He did so with ease and without much stress, and it caused him a chance to win via submission in round two. However, both fighters took him a Fight of the Night honor.

The fight in March allowed Nate Diaz to bring home winnings of $500,000, which will significantly increase his net worth in the next year when earnings are re-calculated and amounts are posted for sport. Should he continue to win in this manner, he might bring home even more. Despite the fact that McGregor submitted, he still took home double what Nate Diaz won in the victory, which means there is room for him to grow and earn more in his career as a professional fighter should he decide that is the road he wants to take as he goes on with his career. He’s only been back about a year since he took time off, and it appears that his training during his time off has proved very valuable.
