Prince William Takes Parenting to a Whole New Level
Prince William has a great approach to parenting a toddler, and we see bell companies marketing this as a new parenting technique; let the ringing begin! The Duke of Cambridge met with some school children in the UK this week and one of them gave him the perfect gift for his toddler son, Prince George, and Prince William knew just what to do with that particular gift.
When 9-year-old Dylan Marten Hughes handed the Duke a set of Christmas bells, the prince replied, “We’ll put these in George’s pockets and then we’ll know where he is in the house,” he joked with the giver of the gifts. Hmm…not a bad idea.
The Prince was meeting with children from three elementary (primary in London) schools to talk about a few different things, including their Remembrance Day project, which was the artful creation of a man made out of a suit of poppies. The children explained to the Duke that the suit was made out of a poppy for every soldier who died, which makes it one meaningful project to bring awareness to the severities of war for children this small.
The kids were part of an ongoing project with SkillForce, a charity Prince William supports. As the children presented him with their craft, they also talked to him about his son, his wife and their considerable athletic skills, to the point that the prince asked them to teach him some of their cool dodgeball moves, “You’ll have to teach me dodgeball.”
He later spent the evening at a black tie event for SkillForce where he engaged with people closer to his own age about the project, including an Olympic medalist who was supported by the charity after being rescued from South Africa when she was just a brand new teenager in need of support.
