While growing up, she attended the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan, hoping that she, too, would be able to secure a career in Hollywood. She knew from the time she was a little girl she wanted to be an actress, and her parents never stood in her way. She was only seven when she took on her first role in a movie called “Private Parts” starring Howard Stern in which she played his daughter. From there, she began working quite regularly and has become a household name in Hollywood.

Her childhood was not always an easy one when she was diagnosed with Kidney Dysplasia. She was in need of a kidney transplant in 2012, and she found a donor in her father. She is much healthier now, and she is living a much fuller and much less stressful life as a whole. Before she was given a new kidney, however, she was working quite hard on many different projects. She was on a number of different shows that were on television as far back as 1999. She even appeared on Broadway once as the young version of Jacqueline Bouvier. Her biggest role to date, however, is admitted her role as the kind of ditzy, silly and not always bright Haley Dunphy on the hit show Modern Family on ABC. The show was a breakout hit in 2009, and she and her cast mates have been nominated for and won numerous primetime Emmy’s for their roles on the hit show.

She’s also been part of a Nintendo 3DS program that stars not only Sarah Hyland, but also famous actress Dianna Argon and Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas. As far as her career in concerned, she has already made appearances in 22 movies. She’s also appeared on more than 23 television shows as a guest star, main character or supporting character. Sarah Hyland has won four SAG awards as well as been nominated for many other awards.

She keeps to herself and she mostly stays out of the spotlight unless she is working. She’s had a number of serious boyfriends over the years, including one with whom she lived for three years. His name was Matt Prokop, but the two broke up in 2014 after she filed a restraining order against him for threatening her and assaulting her. She has since been dating an actor by the name of Dominic Sherwood, whom she met on the set of “Vampire Academy,” in 2015. She’s reportedly paid $15,000 per episode of her hit comedy series, which has added substantially to her net worth, and she will continue to continue to work as long as she can.
