It’s an All White Wedding for Solange Knowles and Alan Ferguson
It’s typically considered a major faux pas to wear white to a wedding unless you’re the bride, but it seems Solange Knowles doesn’t care much for what other people have to say about good wedding etiquette. The younger sister of Beyonce is a married woman as of this weekend, and she wore white, her new husband wore white, Beyonce wore white, and everyone else in the wedding party wore white.
Nearly 100 of Solange and her now-husband Alan Ferguson’s friends and family members spent the weekend in New Orleans celebrating with the happy couple as they exchanged their vows and became husband and wife.
“The couple looked happy, relaxed and beaming. It was a very chill vibe,” said one witness who got to see the couple up close as they biked through the city for their wedding photos. The man behind the bride’s gown is friend and designer Humberto Leon for Kenzo.
“Everyone I worked with on the wedding are friends who I love. Everything was a labor of love,” said the newlywed of her big day. She chose to work with her friends and those who she is closest to from her dress to the cake to the planning of her big day. When you consider that kind of labor of love, it’s kind of amazing to look back on your wedding day with the realization that every detail of your ceremony and reception was hand-picked, detailed and worked on by someone close to you rather than a nameless extra.
In attendance at the wedding was Solange’s sister Beyonce and their mother, Tina Knowles. Though Beyonce was on her own most of the weekend, it appears that her husband Jay-Z and their daughter Blue Ivy made it to the Big Easy in time for the ceremony, so no one from the family was missing.
