Josh Duggar is an American reality television star with an estimated net worth of $200 thousand. Born on March 3, 1988, he is the eldest of 19 children born to Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, a family from Arkansas made famous by their reality show documenting their highly religious and very particular family. Josh Duggar’s family home is a very conservative Christian home in which the wife stays home to care for the kids, birth control is not used and God is in control of everything. He was homeschooled and did not go to college, but he did make a career for himself.
His family is made very famous by the fact that the children in this household do not date. They are permitted to court, but not touch their new friend. They are not even allowed to hold hands or share a kiss until their wedding day. It’s been a very famous storyline for the family, especially as several of the children are grown and married – all saving their first kiss and contact other than a one-arm side-to-side hug for their wedding day. Not surprisingly, it doesn’t take more than a few weeks to a month after their weddings that Duggar children announce they are expecting their first child.
Josh Duggar married his wife, Anna Keller in 2008. The couple has four kids. Josh Duggar is active in conservative politics, following in the footsteps of his father. His father was a two time Arkansas House of Representatives member. Until 2015, Josh Duggar was the Executive Director of the FRC Action, a nonprofit organization. However, his life went from good to very, very bad in 2015 and his family is suffering substantially because of his poor choices.
It was made public in May 2015 that Josh Duggar’s parents admitted that he had molested as many as five little girls in 2002 and 2003. This included four of his sisters. He admitted to doing it while they were sleeping and they did not know, but his family sent him off to a counseling program and then covered up the scandal – since it was long before they were famous. To follow that up, when the adult cheating website Ashley Madison was breached in August, Duggar’s name was one of the names released as a paid-for member. Rather than attempt to cover up this by using the same line that everyone else used “It was a joke,” or “It was for research,” he admitted that he’d spent approximately $1,000 on the site and was a member for almost two years, cheating on his wife and watching pornography on the internet. He entered rehab shortly after.
He is currently without work and his family’s reality television show has been canceled. The family is reportedly strapped for cash and looking for ways to shop their story around to other networks in an effort to earn a paycheck. However, TLC is no longer interested in featuring them on their network due to the inappropriate behavior throughout the life of Josh Duggar.
