As a result, most stars have worked extremely hard to stay thin and fit. However, celebrities, everyone else, sometimes struggle with maintaining a healthy weight. Kirstie Alley
Throughout the 80s and early 90s, Kirstie Alley was one of the most popular actresses on the screen. Once known for her slim figure and good looks, Alley began gaining a substantial amount of weight during the early 2000s. Over the next several years, she struggled to stay at a healthy weight – at some points even gaining more than 80 pounds at a time.

Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Clarkson rose to fame in 2002 after winning the first season of FOX’s American Idol. Since then, she has gone on to have a very successful career in the music industry. However, while her career has earned her a lot of respect and admiration, Clarkson’s weight has been a bit of a sore spot. Since first hitting the scene, Clarkson has put on a lot of weight and been the subject of much criticism.

Melissa McCarthy
Over the last several years, Melissa McCarthy’s career has reached new heights. She has become one of the most popular comedic actresses in the industry, and fans can’t seem to get enough of her. Rebel Wilson is one of the few people whose weight has actually helped her career. Much of her success has revolved around her portrayal of “a fat person.” However, unlike McCarthy, Wilson has stated that she isn’t very happy with her weight. Despite not being comfortable with her body, Wilson hasn’t made a real effort to lose weight and is currently nearing 300 pounds – a very dangerous thing for someone just 5’3.”

During the 80s and 90s, Val Kilmer was one of the hottest actors in Hollywood. However, during the 2000s, fans were stunned when Kilmer appeared to be putting on some serious weight. Although he has since slimmed down, once you’ve seen it, it’s hard to get the image of a fat Val Kilmer out of your head.

In 2011, Adele’s sophomore album, 21, catapulted her into mainstream super stardom. Aside from her incredible voice, her weight has also brought her a considerable amount of attention. She received criticism from several other celebrities, but insisted that she was completely comfortable with herself. She stated, “I’ve never had a problem with the way I look. I’d rather have lunch with my friends than go to a gym.”

Born in Michigan, Moore believes that while he is obese by normal standards, he’s actually considered normal where he’s from. He appeared on The Biggest Loser and by the end of the show he had lost 119 pounds putting him at 343 pounds. Although he is still overweight, he seems to be interested in making positive changes.

Best-known for his role in the 1972 film, The Godfather, Marlon Brando has gone down in history as one of the greatest actors of his generation. However, by the 90s, Brando had put on a lot of weight and suffered from several health issues. Although he had always struggled with fluctuating weight and poor eating habits, things eventually got out of control. It was reported that he eventually ended up weighting over 300 pounds, and he began getting more attention for his weight than for his career as an actor.
