10 Celebrities Who Could Have Big Comebacks in 2015
It is almost impossible for an entertainer to enjoy a career that experiences no hiccups. Even the world’s biggest names go through peaks and valleys which cause their popularity to wax and wane. Although no one can be on top forever, the best in the business work hard every day to make sure that the top is never out of reach. With 2015, just a month into its tenure, several celebrities have already revealed their plans to return to the stage and/or screen and resume their rightful place. Fortunately for those celebrities who are lucky enough to have dedicated fans, there is almost someone waiting on their return. Although nothing in the entertainment industry is set in stone; here are 10 celebrities who could have big comebacks in 2015.
10. Colin Farrell
Actor Colin Farrell has been entertaining audiences for nearly 20 years. Over the course of his career, he has starred in several box office hits, including the 2003 film, Phone Booth. Unfortunately, Farrell’s career has also had a few missteps which have caused a few setbacks. In 2014, Farrell stared in the film Winter’s Tale, which was a critical and commercial failure. However, in 2015, Farrell is poised to make a comeback as a starring member of the cast of the HBO series, True Detective.

9. Kurt Russell
Kurt Russell was once one of Hollywood’s most popular stars. In recent years, Russell’s career has certainly entered a bit of a lull. However, in 2015, Russell will be appearing in three films, including the 7th installment of the Fast and Furious franchise.

8. Lupita Nyong’o
In 2013, Lupita Nyong’o became one of the most talked about actresses after she appeared in the award-winning film, 12 Years a Slave. For her role in the film, Nyong’o earned numerous awards, including a Screen Actors Guild Award Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role. Although she has received a lot of attention since her breakout role in 12 Years a Slave, Nyongo’s has not had another big film role. However, all of that will change in 2015 with Lupita taking a role in the film Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

7. Arnold Schwarzenegger
Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the greatest action film stars of all-time. During the 80s and 90s, Schwarzenegger made a name for himself in films such as The Terminator and Total Recall. Although he had a successful acting career, Schwarzenegger decided to pursue politics and in 2003 he was elected the governor of California. Fortunately for Schwarzenegger fans everywhere, 2015 marks his return to the big screen as The Terminator. On July 1, 2015, the film Terminator Genisys is scheduled to be released in theaters.

6. Jennifer Jason Leigh
Jennifer Jason Leigh rose to popularity during the 80s after landing a starring role in the classic teen-themed film, Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Although Leigh has continued to appear in films throughout the years, she has yet to regain the popularity she once had. All of that could change in 2015; however, as Leigh will be starring in several films including The Hateful Eight, a western written and directed by Quentin Tarantino.

5. Terrance Howard
Terrance Howard the early/mid 2000s, Terrance Howard’s career seemed to be unstoppable. He starred in numerous films which earned him several awards and nominations. Although Howard is a big name celebrity, his latest starring role in the Fox series, Empire, seems to be giving his career a second wind. As the series’ leading character, Lucius Lyon, Howard, who usually appears in films, has been able to reach a new audience.

4. Cuba Gooding Jr.
Cuba Gooding Jr. has had an extremely successful career since making his first on-screen appearance in 1986. Over the years, he has starred in several successful films, and worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Although Gooding has never completely disappeared, his buzz has certainly died down in recent years. However, in 2015, Gooding seems to have several its lined up that will help breathe new life into his career. After appearing in an episode of Fox’s new sitcom, Empire, Gooding is also set to appear in two TV miniseries, and a series that will appear on Comedy Central beginning in March.

Madonna is one of the greatest entertainers of her generation. Well-known for being creative, innovative, and sometimes controversial, Madonna has won the respect of millions. Throughout the 80s and 90s, she was one of the music industry’s biggest stars, and over the course of her career she has one seven Grammy Awards. In recent years, Madonna has been relatively absent from the spotlight; however, 2015 is going to be a big year for Madonna. This year, she is scheduled to release an album, go on tour, and perform at the Grammy Awards.

2. Will Smith
Will Smith, also known as the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, has had an extremely successful career for almost 30 years. As both an actor and a rapper, Smith has won the hearts of millions of fans who enjoy being entertained by his work. After a box office flop with 2013’s After Earth, Smith has taken a bit of a break from the big screen. However, in 2015, Smith is planning on making a huge comeback and will be starring in two films, both of which are poised to be hugely successful.

In 2011, Adele took the entire world by storm when her sophomore album, 21, became a hit. The album earned Adele eight Grammy Awards and people quickly began to predict what the future would hold for the young singer. However, after becoming pregnant, Adele decided to take a break from the spotlight in order to raise her child. Luckily for fans, sources have reported that Adele will release her third album, 25, some time in 2015.
