10 Celebrities Who Shouldn’t Be Famous At All
Many of the world’s most popular celebrities have achieved such status as a result of a talent or achievement that has set them apart from almost everyone else. However, modern times have given rise to a new kind of celebrity. Several of today’s most noteworthy celebrities are famous for absolutely nothing other than simply being famous. Some of these celebrities have become part of daily conversations, and their every most is now considered news. Unfortunately, this phenomenon seems to be increasing with the use of social media and other forms of instant communication. Here are 10 celebrities who shouldn’t be famous at all.
10. Bobby Schmurda
In 2014, New York based Bobby Schmurda broke onto the music scene with his debut single “Hot…” The song quickly became popular and even spawned a dance which has been coined “the schmoney dance.” However, despite becoming extremely popular, many wonder (and rightfully so) how out of all the bad rap lyrics floating around, why were Bobby Schmurda’s the one to make it big? Since rising to fame, Schmurda has unfortunately has some run-ins with the law and is currently at risk of serving an 8-25 year prison sentence.
9. Nicole Richie
Nicole Richie rose to fame in the early 2000s when she and her then BFF, Paris Hilton, appeared in the reality series, The Simple Life. Since then she has appeared in oner reality series and has even embarked on several business ventures. However, even after more than a decade of enjoying fame, most people are still unclear on what it is that Richie is famous for.
8. Nick Cannon
Nick Cannon has come a long way since his days as a star on Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy series, All That. Now an accomplished business man, Cannon has created several TV shows including MTV’s popular, Wild ‘N Out. Aside from his career in the television industry, Cannon has also attempted a career in music. While there is no denying that Cannon is a hard worker who is worthy of success, there is also no denying that every successful person certainly isn’t worthy of fame.
7. Wendy Williams
Former radio host Wendy Williams gained mainstream fame when her TV talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, debuted in 2008. Williams has essentially built a career around celebrity gossip and a confrontational interviewing style that has left her with a lot of enemies in the industry.
6. Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi
Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi is best-known for being a member of the cast of MTV’s hit reality series, Jersey Shore. When the show ended in 2012, Snooki had become one of the show’s most popular characters and landed a spin-off series with her best friend and fellow Jersey Shore cast member, Jennifer ‘JWoww’ Farley. Now in its fourth season, Snooki & JWoww continues to be a popular series, and Snooki’s fame continues to grow.
5. Amber Rose
For the last several years, it seems like Amber Rose’s every move has been fodder for some sort of celebrity gossip publication. Rose instantly became a celebrity in 2008 when she began dating music superstar, Kanye West. Almost immediately after the couple split in 2010, rose began dating Wiz Khalifa, another rap-star with several hits to his name. Unfortunately, the couple, who married in 2013, recently announced that they have ended their marriage. Because Rose has no actual claim to fame, many have accused her of using her relationships with famous men as a means to create her own celebrity.
4. Teyanna Taylor
Teyanna Taylor made her first TV appearance in 2007 on an episode of MTV’s My Super Sweet 16. The show, which depicted elaborate 16th birthday parties, followed Taylor as she worked to turn her birthday party into a dream come true. During the show, it was revealed that Taylor had signed a record label with Pharrell Williams’ Star Trek Entertainment; however, at that point she had not released any music. Since then, Taylor has managed to remain in the spotlight, and in 2014 she released her debut album, VII.
3. Russell Brand
Over the last several years, actor/comedian Russell Brand has become somewhat of a household name. In 2010, he married pop star Katy Perry, and the two became one of the most interesting celebrity couples until their divorce in 2012. Brand, who is best-known for his appearances in films like Forgetting Sarah Marshall, has also been asked to host award shows; however, the reason behind his sudden fame seems to be a little unclear.
2. Paris Hilton
During the early 2000s, Paris Hilton was the most well-known socialite in the United States. After rising to fame for her role in the reality TV show, The Simple Life, Hilton made appearances in films such as The Hillz and House of Wax. Hilton, who was extremely wealthy even before becoming a celebrity, has used her time in the spotlight to build her personal brand and attract attention to her business ventures.

Kim Kardashian has managed to become one of the most well-known celebrities. She initially gained public attention in 2007 when a tape containing intimate moments between her and then boyfriend, Ray-J, was leaked. Since then, Kardashian has become a reality TV star, a business woman, and the wife of a high-powered rapper. Kardashian has also used her celebrity to create opportunities for her family members, some of whom are now almost as famous as her.
