10 Super Scary Celebrity Urban Legends

In the United States, urban legends are a pretty big part of the culture. There are certain things that many people have grown up knowing or being told, and have spent years wondering whether or not they’re true. While most urban legends have turned people and figures into celebrities, others are the opposite. There are plenty of urban legends that surround people and places who were famous long before they got caught up in these scary tales. Sure, as people grow older some urban legends can easily be written off, and the feelings of fear can be left in the past. But sometimes, you can’t help but think that maybe, just maybe, there is a little something to fear after all. Here are 10 super scary celebrity urban legends.

Let’s be real, no matter how much you live Disney World, you’ve got to admit there’s already something inherently creepy about a place that is supposed to be happy all of the time. However, things at Disney could be much creeper if this urban legend is true. Apparently, there are rumors that Walt Disney, the park’s founder, was cryogenically frozen and placed under the Magic Kingdom.

The Taco Bell dog

Fast Food Workers Nationwide To Demand Higher Wages

During the late 90s, the Taco Bell franchise began using a chihuahua as part of the company’s advertising campaign. The little dog  appeared in several Taco Bell commercials, and instantly became popular among fans. However, when the commercials stopped, a rumor began that the dog had been killed. Some believed the dog was hit by a train, while others insisted it had been killed on set. Either way, all of those things were false, and the dog, whose name was Gidget, went on to have a pretty successful career – even appearing in Legally Blonde 2. Sadly, Gidget passed away in 2009 at the age of 15.

The story eventually morphed to say that Gaga was actually born with both male and female organs, and people all over the Internet were attempting to uncover the truth about Gaga. Although both legends have been deemed fake, there are still some people out there who just refuse to give it up.

In the commercial, a group of brothers who were unsure about eating Life Cereal,  decided to let their younger – and extremely picky try – brother, Mikey, try it first. Of course, Mikey liked the cereal, and the rest is history – including this urban legend. Years later, a story began circulating that John Gilchrist, the child who played Mikey, had died from eating pop rocks candy and drinking soda. Fortunately; however, the legend proved to be false, and Gilchrist is still alive and well.

Marilyn Manson’s rib removed

Marilyn Manson is another person whose career has been so bizarre, that it’s easy to believe all of the crazy stories about him. Many people believed – and still believe – the story, although there is nothing to indicate that it is actually true.

Angelina Jolie is a vampire

Let’s face it, pre-Brad Angelina was definitely a little strange, so when an urban legend began circulating that she may be a vampire, it’s safe to say there were plenty of people who bought it. While dating fellow actor, Billy Bob Thornton, the couple was known for wearing vials of blood around their necks. While it’s true that each vial contained a little bit of the other person’s blood, there don’t seem to be any real indicators that Jolie is, in fact, a vampire.

The legend even goes as far as to say that Gere had to be taken to the hospital to have a gerbil removed from his body. While none of that seems to actually be true, the fact that it’s out there is bizarre in itself.

Beyoncé was never pregnant

When Beyoncé announced that she was pregnant back in 2011, many people were so excited that she and her husband, Jay Z, were having their first child. However, as Beyoncé’s pregnancy continued, an urban legend began that Beyoncé wasn’t actually pregnant at all.  According to the legend, Beyoncé has an inflatable baby bump so that she could pretend to be pregnant while a surrogate carried the baby for her. To this day, the jury is still out on this urban legend. Even after the child’s birth, a woman claiming to be the surrogate came forward.
