Your 2014 AMA Winners List

 American Music Awards

The 2014 American Music Awards kicked off to a big start with the announcement that Taylor Swift was the first artist ever to win a new award. The Dick Clark Award for Excellence is now considered the biggest award of the night, and the young star is the first ever singer to take home this coveted top prize, and it should come as no surprise to anyone considering her amazing success and her remarkable talent. Proud as we are, however, of T. Swift’s big win, the night hadn’t even begun yet, and the list of winners from this year’s AMAs is impressive, especially for artists such as One Direction and Iggy Azalea.

One Direction took home all three awards they were nominated for; Favorite Band, Favorite Pop Album and Artist of the Year. Iggy Azalea went home with awards for Favorite Rap or Hip-Hop Album and Favorite Rap or Hip-Hop Artist. Beyonce took home awards for the Best R&B Female Artist and Favorite R&B Album, and Katy Perry took home the award for Single of the Year. These were the biggest winners of the night, but they certainly were not the only winners of the night.

Sam Smith won the Favorite Pop/Rock album of the year and Luke Bryan is everyone’s Favorite Country Male Artist. Katy Perry took home the award for Favorite Female Pop/Rock Artist, and Imagine Dragons took home the honors of being named the Favorite Alternative Rock Artist of the Year. Favorite New Artist of the Year went to 5 Seconds of Summer and Brantley Gilbert took home the award for the Favorite Country Album of the Year.

America’s Favorite Female Country Artist is Carrie Underwood, Favorite Country Band is Florida Georgia Line, Favorite R&B Artist went to John Legend, and the Top Soundtrack of the year went to, surprise surprise, Frozen.
