Alan Jackson Surprises Fans at Restaurant Opening

Everyone knows that Alan Jackson, country music legend, was opening his own restaurant in Nashville, and they’ve been waiting months for the grand opening of Acme Feed & Seed. Wednesday night was the VIP grand opening of the restaurant, and people lined up to be seated and try the food at Jackson’s new digs. Some might have even been hoping the famous country singer would be on hand to greet his first guests.

What people got was a bit of a surprise; Jackson was at the restaurant for it’s opening night, but he was doing more than just shaking hands and asking guests what they thought of his new business venture. The 55-year-old country music superstar gave a surprise concert to his guests, much to their delight and surprise.

“Thank ya’ll for letting me crash your party,” he said to diners as he took the stage to begin his performance. He put on his guitar and began singing his 1991 hit, “Don’t Rock the Jukebox,” and his fans went wild. He also went onto play a few more country hits. Some of them were his own and some were the songs of other country legends, including Merle Haggard.

The restaurant is located on Lower Broadway in an old Acme Farm Supply Store. The actor wanted to be there in the location and so he pledged millions of his own dollars into the project to turn the abandoned feed store into a great restaurant. It’s three stories, and Jackson added a restaurant, honky-tonk and a cocktail lounge. There’s even a concert hall in addition to a bar on the roof on which guests can mingle and socialize while taking in the sights in Nashville.

“I’ve loved Lower Broadway since I first came to Nashville and it was still a little bit shady. This is a much nicer place than I used to play down here back in the day,” he says of his new location.
