Aubrey Plaza to be Grumpy Cat’s Voice in New Movie
Everyone is in love with Grumpy Cat, even though she doesn’t appear to care in the least. The cat who was made famous thanks to her mean mug – caused by a form of feline dwarfism – is set to star in her very own Lifetime movie this Christmas, and she’s not all that excited about yet. Who is excited, however, is Aubrey Plaza, who is going to provide the voice for Grumpy Cat in, “Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever,” which is set to run on the Lifetime Network this holiday season.
What we love about this casting is the fact that Plaza is famous for being grumpy herself. Not that she’s grumpy in real life, but she plays an amazingly grumpy and very sarcastic character on Parks and Recreation, April Ludgate. The 30-year-old actress was given the part after another famous face said no to being Grumpy Cat. Who would say no to a role like this? The answer is Glee’s very own Jane Lynch, who turned down the role for some reason or another.
Grumpy Cat is set to play a cat that’s for sale in a pet store and frequently passed over in favor of smaller, more adorable cats in need of good homes for the holidays. It’s looking like it’s going to be another awful Christmas until a little girl comes into the pet store and begins talking to Grumpy Cat, and she can understand her when she starts talking to her. Things start to turn around for the permanently grumpy feline at that point.
If you’re a lover of the mean face Grumpy Cat makes at all times, you won’t want to miss this movie. It’s set to appear on the Lifetime Network on Saturday, November 29 at 8 pm. Get your popcorn ready and turn off the college football rivalry week games.
