Beyoncé is one of the most popular artists in the world.  Since embarking on a solo career more than a decade ago, Beyoncé has been responsible for numerous hit singles and has yet to have an album flop.  However, despite her high level of fame, Beyoncé has remained relatively private and has worked hard to craft an incredible public image.  As a result, she has earned the respect and affection of people all around the world, and rarely gives anyone a reason to say anything bad about her.  However, as everyone knows, people don’t necessarily need a reason to say something out of line, and Beyoncé has often become a target.  Unfortunately, for those bold enough to speak out against Queen Bey, their words often come with a price. Here are 10 celebrities whose careers got rocked because they dissed Beyoncé.

Khia

Philadelphia based rapper, Khia, rose to fame in 2002 with her hit single “My Neck, My Back (Lick It).” However, her career quickly faded into oblivion, forcing her to work even harder to make a comeback.  Unfortunately, Khia made things even harder on herself in 2013 when she decided to tweet some choice words about Beyoncé.  In a string of tweets, Khia openly dissed Beyoncé, stating: “Woooooooo im scared of the Beyhive ????????????… All of you can stand in line to get swatted by Thugmisses like ya Motha Mammie Bey #should have…” followed by, “I thought the “BeeHive” was @LilKim’s team @Beyonce… Hmmmmm… you will never give up the stealing will you, sis… ????????????” Beyonce’s Bey Hive quickly swarmed Khia’s Twitter mentions, and it’s safe to say that Khia ruined any chance she ever had at making a comeback.

LIV

If you’ve never heard of LIV, you’re not alone.  According to sources, the female rap artist is an alleged former mistress of Jay-Z; however, LIV has officially ruined her chances of ever being known as anything else.  In 2014, she released a diss track aimed directly at Mrs. Carter’s marriage. During the song she stated: “I bet he wish I just stayed and played my part, imagining what could have been with no regard. If I was worshipping him like he was a God, if I’d have been the type of chick desperate to get on. We could have been close friends but more than friends, could have been as hot as Rita Ora and them.” Needless to say, no one has heard from LIV since.

Joseline Hernandez

Joseline Hernandez

A large part of Joseline Hernandez’ storyline on Love & Hip Hop revolves around the fact that she is an aspiring musician.  Unfortunately, her reckless mouth may cause those aspirations to remain stagnant.  In 2014, a video leaked showing Hernandez rapping a diss aimed at Beyoncé along with Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and Lil Kim.  Fans were quickly turned off by Hernandez’ weak rhymes and audacity to diss Queen Bey.

Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas

There’s no denying that Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas and TLC are legendary within the music industry.  However, Thomas stepped out of line in when she posted a screen shot of a list of words and phrases that should be banned from entering 2014.  Among Thomas’ list was “any variation or form of the word Beyonce.”  Twitter immediately erupted with angry Beyoncé fans who refused to tolerate the disrespect.

Ciara

Sure, Ciara has had a few hits, but once the Bey Hive is against you, things suddenly become more challenging. For years, there has been speculation that there may be some tension between Beyoncé and Ciara; however, in 2014 Beyoncé fans were stunned by what appeared to be a sneak diss by Ciara.  After posting a picture from her “Love Sex Magic” video many believed that she was trying to insinuate that Beyoncé, who had recently released her “Partition” video, was a copy cat.

Amerie

Amerie was once one of the hottest rising stars in R&B.  However, in 2006 Amerie released a mixtape with a track which many felt was meant to insult Beyoncé.  In the song, Amerie sang: “Chickens try to bite it,
But they can’t cop my delivery…When yall chicks know yall wasn’t singing like that.”  Although Amerie insisted that her words were not meant for Beyoncé, there was nothing she could do or stay to stop the wrath of Beyoncé’s fans.  Amerie went on to release two albums after the incident, but no one has heard anything from her since 2009.

Ashanti

Once dubbed “the princess of hip-hop and r&b,” Ashanti was on the fast track to superstardom as the first lady of Murder Inc records.  Although Ashanti’s career seemed to slow down a bit after the mid 2000s, many fans hoped that she would eventually make a comeback.  However, over the years, Ashanti has made a few sly comments about Beyoncé that have left many raising their eyebrows.  In 2014, she even got into an argument via Twitter with a Bey fan who insinuated that Beyoncé’s success ruined Ashanti’s career. After all, everyone knows the princess can’t compete with the queen.

Keyshia Cole

In 2011, R&B singer, Keyshia Cole, made a grave mistake when she took to Twitter to express her feelings about the “bow down…” phrase that Beyoncé popularized in her 2013 song “Bow Down/ I Been On.” While Keyshia stated that she felt that the phrase and the ideas behind were harmful, Beyoncé fans quickly began to debate and attack Cole.  It shouldn’t come as a surprise to know that Cole’s career certainly hasn’t made any incredible advances since.

Keri Hilson

Has anyone seen Keri Hilson over the last couple of years? After two relatively popular albums, Hilson seemed to completely disappear.  However, her ‘feud’ with Beyoncé may have been the cause. In the remix to her song”Turnin’ Me On,” many believed that Hilson had fired a few subliminal shots towards Beyoncé.  Unfortunately, Hilson couldn’t have made a bigger mistake, and the entire industry seemed to be instantly turned off.
